The Front Porch Swing

Yay! I love hearing girls say that. I get scared for the ones who have to be a "4". Who are these girls? Who is telling them they aren't good enough? I am 160 and have plateaued there for 4 yrs now so I am staying here. Funny, I am a size 14 too. Weird how that works on different bodies, huh? No wonder people freak out over a number. Would love to get back to 130 just not happening with something drastic which I am not going to do.

Those were at size 16. No skinny minnie or anything, but good enough. My skin has zero elasticity.. I got my first stretch marks at 12 years old. In good news, that meant I was not at all worried about them during pregnancy haha.

39 weeks along with Ms.Millie

A few weeks ago.

Having kids takes the fear of prancing around in a bathingsuit away. He's having fun, that's all that matters.

He's resting in the fridge. My first ever on my own butchering experience. Not that hard but when I say butcher you KNOW what I mean. I can't tell you how many times I've heard to be prepared. Well, the knife was from the stone age. Dull, dull, dull. I ended up using the kitchen shears for most of it. But he did not go gently into the night. It took almost 2 hrs to set up , butcher and then to practice on my caponizing. Good thing he was dead because I would have killed him twice over. I think I'll practice only on dead birds for a while. Learning the basics. I did find his little "beans".

And I got them out on one side. Without a good knife I couldn't do it as well as I should. Hence the dead first. Only thing is I have 12 small roosters. I don't want to kill them, then practice. Maybe someone will give me some small roosters. Well I'll have chicken salad in a couple of days. Looking forward to it. I probably need to get some CX's to take me through the winter.
Today is the day that Bethbug is supposed to mail out my SG Dorkings. Looking forward to it.

Free roosters aren't hard to find

Our first one didn't go easy either... then we changed methods, it's been much smoother since.

I think people misinterpret the point of clothing sizes. They're meant to be a point of reference, so that if you own clothing of mainly a certain size, you can pick out clothing in the same size to try them instead of trying each pair of jeans. Nothing looks as ridiculous as people stuffing themselves into too small clothing just to be able to say "I wear a size so and so". Fitting clothing is always more stylish than small clothing.

Yup.. Honestly clothes should go by measurement, like most guy clothing. And have the option of inseam length!

My legs are super long.. most pants look ridiculous on me.. always high water pants. American companies assume fat girls are short. Hubby has short legs, 29 inch inseam. We're a funny pair.

Our Zumba classes have people of all sizes. It is a place to find friends and just have fun. Each instructor has something different to offer. Our instructor always says move feet first The rest you add in when you can

I'm about 5 ft.small and shaped like a potato - I have to get larger sizes in jeans to sort of fit my waist - then have to cut off 8 inches or more before hemming. Ruins the taper of the pants.

It's no fair that men can get pants of their inseam length. I've been hemming(by hand) pants since I was a young girl - getting pretty good at it. Had to hem all my mom's pants as well - she was shorter than me.

Its that whole move my feet thing. I can barely walk. At nearly 400 lbs my knees are telling me I am doing too much to them. I have to press four hundred pounds with one leg just to go up stairs. Each step is agony (icepick feeling under the knee caps) and the rest is warrning me that I am going to fall down.

I am not being a wet blanket her just being realistic. In order for me to move... I have to reduce the weight i am packing in order to allow muscles that are still good to do their work on lifting me and balancing me.

Tomorrow morning I am packing to go spend a day and a night at my house. I just got back from the store stocking up on decent food to stock the shelves at home. I haven't lived in my house in seven years. So there is no food and I don't even remember if the microwave still works. Therefore I am not worrying about diet this trip. The impetus is to get moving in any way I can. Its a small house and sorely neglected.

I hope to take lots of before pictures up there. As well as forcing my son to take pictures of me for the beginning of this journey. The following is a picture of me appox four or five years ago. I am bigger now. the smudge on my cheek is a liver spot...

For what its worth the last time someone lived in my house was about three years ago. I had a roommate when I left and her health became an issue so suggested she needed to move to town so she could be closer to her support system. Long story... I thought she was a friend... turns out she was not. The dust settled from that finally after this January.

Any hoo I have moved on from that. Kept up with the infrastructure on the house. The place is paid for so I dont have much to deal with. Eighteen acres of paradise... My paradise...

LOL... I just found a website where the clothes are pretty decently priced but they make them to order in North Carolina. I may have a pair of Jeans made through them. I live in jeans and its really really hard to find something with pockets these days. They consider ALL your measurements.
