What are GSD'sOne of our neighbors brought a young GSD out to our place and it was the first time she saw chickens...she immediately ran for the coop and towards the young chicks I had there. Her owners could not stop her, screamed, etc., and I just waited until she came around the coop and caught her. Within 3 min. I had her turning her head whenever a chick was presented to her. When I let her go and she took a step towards the coop, it took one correction and she laid back down and would no longer look at the young birds running to and fro. After that she acted like there was no such thing as chickens within 5 yds of her.
I think the GSDs are extremely intelligent and responsive dogs if one just lets them know what is desired of them. Maybe you could start all over with their training and see what happens. You'll never know until you try!
