...staying home, going to play in the dirt....
Can't stand parties. I sympathize.
YEah - Parties always seem like such a great idea and so fun. That is, until I actually have to go. Then they seem ilke such a waste of energy and time. Ugh.
I put mine whole, out in the yard and they eat them au naturel. Wouldn't want to bake off any of the goodness!![]()
Because it makes me feel good, like I'm doing something "good" and "useful" for the planet and for my birds. And it is a very efficient way for me to achieve that feeling. A feeling which is almost completely lacking from my life.
When I crack an egg I put the shell in a big metal bowl. When the bowl is full I bake them and then crush them and then put them in the oyster shell hopper in the chicken coop.
Mizz Leslie... maybe you need to go "rescue" sumpin'! It might make you feel worthy of that air you're breathing, maybe. hahahaha Bee might have some of those poor UGLY chicken kidneys. hahahaha
I put my egg shells in a bowl on the cabinet then the next time I mix up some FF I crunch them up with my hand and toss them in the bucket. My shickens haven't filed a grievence with their union or anything yet ...and I haven't seen an ambulance down at the coop yet. hahahaha
Where the Red Fern Grows was one of my favorites, my grandfather raised hounds in eastern Oklahoma and I had tears in my eyes the whole time I was reading that book, Dad Jinks was what we called him, he loved to watch "The Rifleman" with me on TV, went Christmas shopping with us when we bought baby rabbits for our daddy.
Thanks for letting me sit for a while on your porch.
I'd forgotten I knew so many naughty words.![]()
He loved Walkers. He preferred a shy hound that could not be picked up by any other human. They also had to have the courage to go after a wolf. They still existed in Oklahoma in the 1950s. I remember him driving from McAlester to somewhere near Nashville, TN to buy a "champion", a long drive before interstate highways.Hey there Ocap. What kind of hounds did your grandfather raise? My family has a big hound history -foxhounds, coon hounds, etc. Dogs use to be serious business in the family. There was a whole lot of pride in good hunting dogs.
Good to see you on the porch!![]()
