We have something here and don't know what they are but I call them "poppers", if you so much as wave a hand in front of one and create a breeze, the pods pop and the seeds go all over the place. Wonderful stuff seeds. I've never even heard of the corkscrew one, but they sound fun to watch, not so fun to get stuck in your clothes.I know, as a kid it was just fun to watch, as an adult I realize how truly amazing it is to see a seed in action.

Hey, everyone.....Texas Lisa just got home from church to find a chicken massacre. Please pray for her right now, as we all know how devastating it is to come home to something like that....just gut wrenching.![]()
Quote: Nope the seed you see there is about half the size of a dime. the acutal plant is maybe two to five inches tall covered in flowers that eventually make what looks like a storks head, when the petals fall off. the nthe storks head splits into five strips the length and the strips curl as they dry.
Once they come off the plant The action of dew in the morning and trying during the day cause the spring to unfurl.... It unfurls an contracts over and over and in about three days the seed is in the ground. The long whip like end keeps the whole thing from turning.... Pretty ingenious design for sure.
