The Front Porch Swing

Leslie, I believe I reset mine on one of the emails. Seems like it is one of those boxes you check, or uncheck.

I just edited my post to say I found a little box hidden at the bottom left of the screen where you type stuff to "submit". It seems to be permanently set to "Get notified when others reply" but there is a drop down menu to specify how to get notified. Mine is set to "Site Only (no email)," and yet I still get e-mail. And it appears I have to uncheck the box each time before hitting the "submit" button.

Okay ... I just found the "preferences." they are not at the My Profile page where I thought they might be ... or if they are there I can't see them.

I found them by clicking the drop down menu for my name which is located at the top right of any page ... UNDER the My Profile button. That name is in pretty small type ... but its drop-down menu has a "preferences" choice ... on that preferences list is a whole section for getting e-mails that seems to function independently from the "Site only" selection process for "manage my subscriptions" and where that same choice appears on individual posts ... And over-ride it.

So ... why have a cross-cancelling preferences system? Why psych the user into thinking they can manage their subscriptions from one page when they can't ... they have to manage them from another page.

Hmmmm ... makes one think.

Quote: Johnny is Very good hes also a horse trainer. I have met some farriers here who have never ridden a horse... Just went to horse shoing school and apprenticed somewhere. There are A LOT of horses in San Diego.....

The last farrier that worked on her was a Certified farrier. he was pretty dang good and OMG eye candy.... Way too young for me but Dang. So I didnt mind the 100 bucks for a trim he charged.... Ahem... Oh I am shameless....

Johnny is a survivor or strikes me as one. He drives a little beater car rather than a shoeing truck.... He actually has a motorcycle rigged to carry his gear. Because he lived in Mexico His overhead was low. There are alot of americans that live just over the border. And commute to San Diego to work. Hes now got a construction job slated for another year where he is a heavy equipment operator... graders and stuff like that. So he moved his family to the US to be closer to him. Even though hes making a bizzilian dollars per hour moving dirt he still thought of Katee and called me up and asked if I wanted to get her trimmed.

The hen with the breeding injury is doing so well! Chickens really amaze me!
So did you get BYC slapped into line??? VBG

I am the opposite. Because my internet browser crashes my computer I am best left to read the email without pictures. I have all my emails filtered into different folders. Because I often times will get over 400 per day. The great part about that is when you get done with them you can just delete the whole batch belonging to one subject.

Or If I get a personal email that will go into my inbox and that stands out very clearly.

blooie your daughter is gorgeous. i would have liked the moonshine grandpa. right up my alley. inner strength comes from the hard knocks we take in life. the thing i see lately with the younger folks is the blame game. when Dr Phil starting his television program and opera went on these sprees of it is not your fault. well dang it may not be your fault what happened but the whole thing begins with you and ends with you. handle your business and move on. do somethings need professional help yes. you get your help and move on. i have not met one single person that can change the past. what we are expected to do is accept it and move on. will the cuts heal yes. they become scars. scars are think skin covering a one time wound. it really plucks my nerves when i hear people say well mommy or daddy did not love me enough or daddy or mommy did this. my brother or sister did this my uncle did that my aunt did this. my neighbor did this. most of this stuff happened 10-20-30 years ago. funny these people are still alive and most doing well. trust issues happen from life experience.. the older we get the more things have happened to us. we learn these things.
my experience in life is tuff. i am a high school drop out of 10th grade. in my younger days i have been locked up.i have been around the undesirables. now on the flip side of that im a graduate gemologist.i have studied metallurgy.. i have ran very successful business .
was i loved as a child. i do not know nor do i care. i am the person who i am today because of me. i can pay my bills, drive my car, have good friends and help the ones who call at 3 am for help me my chicken is sick or need a hand. i can raise you one hell of a chicken . so what else do i need. nothing . the rest are wants. wants and needs are 2 different things. i myself have never seen a brinks truck follow a hurst yet.
You tell them Bruce!!! I agree with you 100%. As Harry S. Truman says, "The buck stops here"!!

O goodness, I am in love (no, not with your cute farrier). I have plenty of apples and carrots. I am sure Bee has a watermelon around here somewhere. Give her a hug for me!

Lisa :)

Hey, Becky!  Come on in!  They've saved a rocker for you.  Some of us have to sit on flipped over buckets or sit on the edge of the porch with their feet dangling down.

Okay Blooie I'm sorry I called you a Big Cry Baby. (Maybe. Well not really ) but if you are going to pout I will say it. How about a peace offering. Fresh made cinnamon rolls. Just out of the oven.

You are soooo much fun. I'm so glad you came to the porch.

Good Saturday evening ya'll :frow

Hope ya'll are having a fantastic weekend so far :)

The below pic was taken from my front yard about 10 mins ago - looking towards the West as the sun sets out over the Gulf of Maine from my view here in Nova Scotia :). Spring is well on its way and the sky is so beautiful here this evening. It was raining as the sun was setting, but as you can tell, the upper cloud is where the rain is and between it and the horizon is somewhat clear with the gorgeous sunset :). God is so wonderful !
