The Front Porch Swing

Well you could always be pitiful and go beg for him back, or maybe he will run away and come back home. lol

All we have blooming is March flowers. I'll be glad when everything greens up and blooms! I've got limbs to pick up and leaves to get up and give to the birds. Always a lot of work for a couple days just to get it to where I can mow. But I love it!

Yes, me too, I figure if I can keep it all mowed I'll be doing good. I learned in my old age to buy weed/grass killer and I spray around everything that I can't get close enough to with the riding mower. Then I just ZIP around and it only take about 2 to 3 days!!!!!

Wish I had a "bagger" like Carolyn, she mows even in the winter months and gathers the grass clippings for the chickens to peck through and for the soft nests.
Pretty smart cookie..she is.

@SonRise... I have never heard of a paint showgirl silkie. Perdy cool, ought to be worth some bucks to a silkie fan. Designer chickens, whoda thunk it!?! lol I want one designed to shoot XL eggs out like a machine gun for 10 years and remain healthy as a horse. LOL ...Where did that come from! hahaha

I have banned herbicides and most all "cides" so I just mow what I can and leave the rest and get somebody to trim now and then. lol

Willow, here is the tree today, just now.

The greatest thing about it is that it pleases many of the senses, it smells divine, looks awsome and also has a very pleasant "HUM" do to all the millions of bees that are enjoying it.
You sure can't miss it.

I'll be totally honest with you.  I'm not a "Christian". That is okay. I have a whole lot of friends who are not Christians. I don't love them any less. I believe in God and I know that somewhere up there, he's watching out for us. How do you know there is a God there? He's all-knowing and he has plans for us. *You are very right about this.* However, I don't think any man-written book can tell me how to believe.  Actually, let me rephrase that.
You say you do believe there is a God. How powerful is the God you say is there? Is He powerful enough to inspire men to write what He wants in a book for Him?

I don't believe any man-written book can fully encompass how the world works and how it will work. The one who created the whole world and keeps it working is the same that inspired those men to write down what He said.  Just like you wouldn't get medical advice from an outdated medical journal, you probably shouldn't raise your kids the way they did back then.  Just like how if we dealt with adulterers the same way as we did back then, everyone in your old workplace would be dead. :th

That's not to say those old ideals can't be put to use.  Some things never change and one of those things is learning from our parents/guardians.  It's in our nature to learn from those older and more experienced than us. What if my parents are drug dealers, prostitutes and murderers? Should I learn from them? Then what hope do I have in life if that is the life they are grooming me for? Being taught discipline from an older, trusted adult is the norm.  We see it in nature, we see it in other countries, we see it in our own homes.

People are different now.  No they are really not.I'd like to think that many people have a more evolved idea of how the world works.  We process information differently now.  Back then, people would be rioting for you to stone a man to death for sedition.  Nowadays, we hail people who do that because they are speaking out for something.

I'm not saying that the Bible is wrong or that it is right.  This is just my two cents on the matter.  No problem.

Besides, why spank your kid when you can instead embarrass them?  If my child ever did something that demanded discipline, I'd make them red in the face until they learned never to cross Mama again.  It's a much more satisfying punishment, too, because they'll always remember it..... I know I would feel bad if I really humiliated my kid. I believe that would damage the relationship.

Especially when you're the one retelling tales of it when they are in their fifties. :gig
