Okay Deb, here is a story but I can't tell it as good as you. I was on a first date with this guy. He didn't know I wore a hearing aid (I told you I don't tell people). Anyway he reaches over to kiss me. Sometimes when your hearing aid gets close to something it will sound off--high pitch. My hearing aid starts sounding off. He stops kissing me, backs up, looks around, and of course, I don't say anything. He kisses me again and the aid sounds off again. He stops and looks around again and I started laughing. I told him I wore a hearing aid and that it was sounding off. He looked relieved and said, "I thought I was hearing bells and that we were meant to be a couple."LOL brings out one of those stories for my Vignette....
In a desert Town that has a post office a grocery store a restaurant a historic hotel and about two hundred homes you get to know everyone that pokes his or her head out the door.
One such fellow is Norm. He wears a Cowboy had and a bola tie flannel shirts in the winter and cotton shirts in the summer. His cowboy boots are well worn and his face shows the time hes lived on this earth. He writes poetry and songs and histories about the town. He was born there more than 80 years ago.
I was in the restaurant and spoke to him as he came in and he nodded and smiled. He sat at his usual spot the waitress brought him his coffee. I started chatting with him... I love his stories and when I have drawn him out is when I ask him about the book he wants to write....
After a minute he looked at me and in a booming voice so the whole restaruant could hear..... "I SUPPOSE YOU THINK WE ARE HAVING A CONVERSATION....' he pointed to his ear... No hearing aid... I had to laugh.

Ooh both very good picks. If you want a man's man (according to Katherine Hepburn) that would be John Wayne. In her biography, she always had an excuse to touch him during the making of 'Rooster Cogburn and the Lady'. I guess I am showing my age, because my mind keeps going back to the older actors: Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Richard Widmark, Sidney Poitier, Clint Eastwood, Lee Majors, Cary Grant, Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, etc.Fabio has just never thrilled me......
I am more the Sean Connery type.![]()
Or maybe Tom Selleck ..........
