The Front Porch Swing

BK, I saw a video once of a "trained professional" giving a wee baby a relaxing massage bath ... it was absolutely the sweetest thing. A nice warm bath must feel very familiar to fresh babies.

Of course, the video has to come with all kinds of "don't try this at home" warnings ... cuz some of us adults lack common sense ...

I'm glad you got to experience some of that with Aliza Grace.

I'm a massage therapist also, so she got a baby massage after her bath with warm lotion. She slept like a log that night!

Did you take the duck on vacation with you?

No...but I bet she would have loved that hot tub if we had turned it down a tad.

That pic was taken back in April...that duck is a big ol' duck now and is getting feathers. I'm hoping to find her a mate somewhere so we can raise youngin's.

Well its been a very long day but God seems to be listening to my pleas for mercy. Got up at 6, fed chicks, rabbits then headed up to get one of my big chickens since it was now found I had two boys. So Amwan got traded for a Rosie. Gonna try and post a pic if anyone can help with age and breed it will help. Also there is a thread on egg colors determined by earlobe colors I need to find. Hers are red. Went to get mesh but he said he would not have anymore til 1pm. Met a lady from Syria another refugee family sat to tea and coffee. I asked how many kids she had she told me 3 boys 1 girl. I only saw 2 boys. She then told me one was killed at 5mo, a bullet took his head off laying in his mothers arms.....I didnt have words. Took daughter to get new headphones then back for mesh. Home to finish the task. As we were coming back we got a call my bil was at my house.
seems my mil told him I HIT HER! Yep I told him if I hit her you would know. Ive never disrespected an elder and I hate her lies. I know she has said the same of my sil and dementia or not I will not accept her to lie about me. I told him that I had not touched her and I had only told her "Ous" which means be quiet. Cause I didnt want to listen to her banter. Anyway, I told him that this house belonged to 3 of us. My fil, mil...my bil family and my husband. I have rights same asthem. I was told we could have any animals we wished but soon as we did people got talking. I told him until I had my own land I would keep my animals on the roof or balconies. I told him that b4 we got wood, put it in the field and they took it from me no asking. He said he would talk to dad. He came back and said I could have some land and him and his son would help me build a place for my animals. Funny hubby sends money and its ok build, but no money forget it! My eyes are drooping so ill post more later.

Good luck to you honey. Maybe you'll get a little more respect now.

lindz~ I am sorry for your lose. Pets are members of the family and it hurts terrible when we lose them.
oldmamma~ I understand and admire your faith in God. I personally would be doing what ever I needed to get to the U.S. but that's just me. Please do what you need to do to stay safe.

I have a blazing migraine today thanks to modern technology. I need to update my credentials & submit my cpr card to medicaid by June 1 in order to continue to be paid. Of course medicaid has just "improved" their system and now all documents need to be submitted through the portal. I have been working on this for 10 days and at least 10 hours and 4 calls to the forward health help desk. AAAHHHHH.

In the old days you just made a copy of your card and mailed it to them but now they IMPROVED the system. Once I go through all the BS on the web site and hit submit I have to wait 3 days to see if it got there. If it has not, I get to do it all over again. Please someone explain to me how this is an improvement. Tell me how this has improved the quality of care my patients will receive. OK... inhale ~ exhale.... inhale ~ exhale. All better now.

Just got a call from my son. I need to run his coveralls and boots to him at work. How do you go to work and forget your work clothes????? When I get back I am going to take my lunch out to my muddy garden, sit my well padded behind on the ground and relax. For all my crabbing and complaining I must remember I am very blessed and lucky to not have to worry about the things so many people in this world do. Jen

Are you a doctor or nurse?

Are you a doctor or nurse?

I'm an independent private duty rn.
So basically I am self employed and bill medicaid for my services. I care for severely handicapped children in their homes, usually with at least a trach and or ventilator. I love my job, as far as the work I do and the families I work for, however, the government bureaucracy that goes along with it can be mind numbing.

Amen! We don't have to be anxious for anything, do we? We can let our requests be made known to God, with thanksgiving, and the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Hallelujah for that!

The veg are thriving on this system! The chooks want IN to help with the thinning out! Oh, okay, the complete destruction of the whole bed.

Amen and AMen!!
That is a great looking garden! I love the clover between the rows. Does it keep the weeds down? DH planted our garden Monday. We had a good rain on it yesterday, nice and warm with chance of spotty showers today. We should be seeing some activity soon!!

Especially that nosy little red hen...the garden will have a sign that calls the garden The Little Red Hen's Garden, as she supervised all the planting and it's also an apt description as all our family love to eat our garden but never want to help us put one in.

Amen and AMen!!

Yes, the clover serves many purposes, one of which is to suppress weed growth. It fixes nitrogen in the soil, keeps the soil moist and a good cover for worms and beneficial bugs, when it blooms it will attract pollinators to the garden, and in the fall and winter my chickens feast on this as it will stay green all winter long. I'm going to try to hoop a few of the rows of clover this winter with wire and plastic so they can still eat here when the snow is too deep.

It's a cheap way to save us labor, retain water, fertilize, insure the pollinators come, and feed the chooks. It's got the added bonus of keeping our feet clean when we work the garden and keep the soils in the pathways from becoming too compacted from our foot travel.
