The Front Porch Swing

Boy, I missed one day and was ten pages behind, lol. Funny though, I didn't get all those posts in my email like I normally do??

Anyway, thank you all that I missed for the warm welcome and a warm welcome to all the new people that have joined recently.

Good morning to everyone. It's been cold here again all week and its snowing again.......sure did get spoiled with the two 40 degree days we had last weekend.

I did notice that the little goldfinches are starting to get their yellow coloring back a little bit, a sure sign of Spring coming?? I hope! I even saw a couple of robins, though I don't think they got the memo that there is still a ton of snow on the ground and its super cold.

How's everyone doing on this fine day? I hope very well and staying warm

recipe:
one cup bisquick
one pound cooked sausage
four beaten eggs
one cup shredded cheddar cheese
cook in muffin tins at 350F for 20 minutes

we store them in the freezer if you make too many

A substitution for those who don't have 1 Cup of Bisquick ...

From Wikipedia ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisquick

One cup of Bisquick can be substituted by a mixture of one cup of flour, 1½ teaspoons of baking powder, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of oil or melted butter. Optional: to the above mixture add 1/2 cup buttermilk powder.

It is cold, wet, and windy here in Texas. When I lived in Indiana, robins would come back and you could usually count on one more snow.

Ah I just got sprayed by skunk

Sorry! Definitely get the tomato juice. We had a GSD growing up. He got sprayed and went down to the creek. He rolled in the creek bed and came back with most of the odor gone.

Thank you! It's been fun meeting everyone here!

Hopefully, I'll get some photos of my girls to share with everyone soon too.

Here's a recipe that works - dish soap, Hydrogen Peroxide, baking soda:

1 quart of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup of baking soda
1 to 2 teaspoons liquid soap
for very large pets one quart of tepid tap water may be added to enable complete coverage.

This REALLY works!!!! I've used it on my dog a couple times, but fortunately not too many! Hard to wash the inside of the nasal cavity, though.

Could you sub self-rising flour? Does anyone know the proportions of "rise" that go into self-rising flour?

Thanks! I got it off me.
You didn't have to roll in the creek did you?
