Not me! I'm getting some CX from TSC this next week and later on in April I'm going to try to snag me a couple of pullet chicks from my local feed store..they are getting in some breeds I like(RIR and brown leghorn) and I'll be subtracting from my flock this month, so adding a few more keeps me on the level.

If anything I hatch out of this natural nest survives to hatch and beyond, they will be very few so I'll need some brooder mates for them. I think I have only three eggs that are developing...or I think they are.

I've got to repair/modify my coops that this winter beat the crap out of before I have any room for any more. If it wasn't for that, oh yeah! lol

They have chicks at my local feed store too. I'm thinking I might get a couple of buff orpingtons. I wish they had something that looked similar with a different comb. I have white birds and white birds with a little bit of black and I would like to see some other colors. I do have 3 young buckeyes and two marans hens that are sort of wheaten colored. Some buffs would go nice, I think.

I am doing a happy dance!!!!!!! The new coop is finished and open for business! It is a beautiful day, and the girls are already checking out the nest boxes! The girls are enjoying scratching around in the new leaves and laying in the sun soaking in the rays!

Lindz, that's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Perfect. And your nest boxes came together great too. I'm glad you left the cracks in the boards on top. Plenty of ventilation. One fine job. Kudos, girl.

I want some EE! :(

Last year I bought some chicks from TSC and I'm still not sure what they are! lol I searched and searched looking at pics and thought they were maybe Light Sussex... then I was told that hatcheries don't have LS. Okay, searched some more... thought they were Delawares. They lay really well so later on last year I ordered some more Delawares. The the chicks looked different so I decided they must not be Delawares. Searches some more... aha, Columbian Rocks they must be! (And that's what they have been for at least six months!) Then the other day I put my younger and older flocks together and by George I can't tell the younger Delawares from those TSC "Columbian Rocks" except the older ones have a little bigger comb. I don't know and I don't think I even care anymore!!! What I do know is don't trust those TSC signs. LOL

...I guess I could take them on Maury and have a dna test done...? LOL

Well, I just signed on the offer for a place I haven't seen. Only looked at 3 pictures of the outside of the place.
DH took the tour though and is supposed to be sending me pictures of the inside. There is one outbuilding he didn't check out - because it was full of guinea hens!

I can imagine the look on his face and the racket that ensured when he opened that door.
