I'm sorry that you've had such a rough time of it. And I'm really sorry you have such a bad headache. That never helps any situation.Ah, this thread relaxes me. I got home from work a couple hours ago with the worst headache ever. All had been going well until my boss called and told me that I needed to print 15 copies of a poster, not 2. He didn't tell me that at all, he just said to print the file. Gah!
I'm just hoping to get more into the mesh of things. The first day is always the hardest, right? Because I had several awfully ungrateful thoughts today, just wishing he would realize I'm no good at this and fire me.
As soon as I got home, I popped a couple Tylenol and went straight out to the flock to feed them and watch the chicks. It helped immensely. Afterwards, I made some jello and just now I enjoyed it while watching some silly cartoons. I just need to let this all roll off me.
I have so many issues to work through tomorrow. The boss will be in tomorrow an hopefully he'll show me how to troubleshoot that darn printer. It had nearly finished printing a poster when it said there was an error. According to the manual, the only way to "fix" that problem is to nix all that you'd just printed, restart the printer, and do it all over again. How awful, especially when a business must save paper so that it can be economical.
Part of me wishes I could stick to my freelancing and just be around my chickens. Heck, I'd go back to the other print shop if they wanted me! At least there, they knew that I wasn't versed in printers/screen printing and would just let me be a graphic designer and not their Jack of All Trades.
The only consolation is that I will be able to pay off my student loans this year if I play my cards right. That makes this more worthwhile. If nothing else, I want my FICO score to be brilliant so I can get a loan for a property.
Okay, rant over. My head is sore.

I hate to be a debbie downer" but this mess is amazing. Be sure to notice the occupations of the two monsters. People that turn their head and let crap like this go on deserve worse!

Just random ramblings here....
Any one have Corned-beef and Cabbage today for St Paddys day? I made Corned-beef and Brussels sprouts... It came out pretty good. I like Brussels sprouts better they have more flavor.
For the past few years I have gotten Coffee at the local drive through Starbucks. And on many occasion the car a head of me has bought my coffee... a kind of pay it forward thing. I have never been able to reciprocate because usually the car behind me is loading up on YOU name it....
Yesterday when i was buying the corned beef in the store.... Driving my scooter about got everything I needed and some I didnt need but got anyway.... So I get in line at the check out after some guy gets impatient decides to get in another line. The lady loading her grocieries looked a bit distracted. Hey I have all the time in the world and a place to sit.... LOL. So come time to check out and her card wouldnt work. Niether ATM or Credit. So she stood a moment turned and apologized to every one behind her and started fishing in her wallet for money. She was short. So she moved her groceries to the front and started fishing in there for somethting to return. My opportunity.
I asked the cashier how much the balance was which was around 27 and told her I would pay the balance. The woman was shocked and tried to explain .... I told her No worries just do it for someone else when you can. I need to do stuff like this more often.
For instance I was having lunch at a local chineese food place waiting for my Grandma's Car to get new tires. A man who appeared to be living on the streets came up and carefully parked his hand truck with his belongings strapped to it against the window of the restaruant. He had wayy less than the others I have seen with shopping carts. But He had a suitcase and a sleeping bag and a spare jacket and some shoes and some other little packages of things on the Hand truck.... Then he was carrying a military style duffel filled with approximately the same amount. That he wedged next to the hand truck and came in.
He didnt smell his close werent perfectly clean but they werent completley filty and stinky either. he ordered up fried rice and noodles for three bucks. He turned to look for a place to sit and I pointed to the table next to me... "Why dont yousit here so you can watch your stuff. He smiled and sat down. I started up a conversation with him "How you doing are you keeping cool out there?" It was about ninety degrees out. "Oh yeah no problems." I asked him what he did for a living... He told me he used to be a laborer at one time he was learning to be a tile setter with his dad.. Very heavy Spanish accent and he sounded somewhat educated too.
I told him about the time I worked at the local gas station and I knew quite a few of the street people in town. And it was an understanding with my boss that if one of them needed something they could have anything from the fountain. One fellow Reggie was always sober and made enough money collecting cans to feed himself. Reggie was very sick when I started working there battling pneumonia.... He always left with a big 32 ounce container of cocoa and the Hot dogs that were just done on their time limit.
We talked about a few more things before I had to go. So many people just Look at these people as invisible or a menace or a druggie or an alcaholic.... figure out a lable.... But for the most part they have just checked out of society.... Sure some do spend alot of time yelling at traffic.... LOL I had one Take a bath right there at the Air pumps... He didnt take his clothes off He just used the water and fished into his clothes and scrubbed under neath... LOL. I had to stop that one. But for the most part just having a conversation brings that guarded look out of their eyes and you see the person within.

Everything had been going so well, too. I think the stress and frustration just caught up with me. I'm praying for the strength to get through this. I'm fairly certain I'm not going to get fired (the shop opens at 10 and he rarely even shows up. Unless he wants to show up everyday, I'm his only option), so I'm just gonna have to get with the program.
I think the problem is that I haven't been on a strict schedule for about a year. I used to go to school everyday, take three classes, then worked at the school as a student worker/graphic designer. My days were 14 hours long but I was accustomed to it.
However, since I took a year after graduating to get some rest and raise the chickens, working like this is stressful. I didn't realize how Zen I'd become until I started going to work again. I even found a couple of my hairs today. One of them has begun to grow out white!
I'm gonna take a shower and go to bed. I need to sleep off the stress.
