The Front Porch Swing

Ok let's talk compost. Who does it and how? I'm getting my back fence moved 10 feet back to my property line and I'd like to compost. I'm sure my chickens would like for me to as well. I saw a real humdinger of a composting machine somewhere on here and it was really best. But expensive. How do you start it?

They are getting bigger. Today was their first day out of the inner pen (connected to the coop) to the outer pen. O my goodness. They didn't know what direction to go. I think they will sleep tonight!

Will try to get some better ones tomorrow (weather permitting).

Yea I'm not sure the weather guys are getting it right this time. Of all the rain we are supposed to have had in the last few days Katy has had none of it-even today they said storms after 2 o'clock. And nothing. I was going to wait to water but I guess I'll do it after church.

We haven't received anything either. Very frustrating. I think we are in for another dry summer. I was out weeding the garden and I think I was hitting concrete. The gumbo clay is so hard!

Bad day getting worse. Was let know that I am not wanted on BYC (not in this thread). I don't need that. I just ask questions and try to be helpful. I understand where BYC gets the reputation that it has now. I'm outta here.

I hope you ladies enjoy your time on the porch. It was nice to visit. Thank you for being nice.

You do realize that the Porch ladies will stalk you if you leave...not to frighten you or anything, but they know where you live now, so be prepared.

I will stay here. Only here though, if anyone sees me starting to venture off the porch grab me and bring me back. :)

Good decision. You will encounter at least one nasty person for each session on this forum, but you will also meet about 3 really nice people too, so it makes it all worth while.
I'm so excited!! Lookie my big girls..
.
No more baby waterer....I had both in the coop, but today I kept hearing them banging on this one so I took the baby one out. If they wanna drink now, there's only one way to get it!

I'm proud of you, Blooie! You will love this so much!

Good to see you are still providing those chicks with their "natural perch" so they will feel at home out there!

I need help too. I did compost in Colorado- .I did compost in California, but I can't get it started here in Ohio. I still have stuff I put in the pile 2 yrs ago that hasn't broken down. I have one of those Rubbermaid thingies. That looks like a little house. It has always worked before.. Even chicken litter doesn't seem to kick start it. I think I am a composting failure
