The Front Porch Swing

Ok, so I know you are not supposed to open the incubator until all the chicks have hatched.... My humidity has been running around 70%, and there were no active pips (I wouldn't have opened the incubator if there had been). The chicks kept jumping baskets and then freaking out when they were by themselves, so I hurried up and moved them all to the brooder. Humidity only dropped to 67%, and everyone seems to be much happier... they are quieter anyway! So.... here are some fluffy pictures!

AWESOME they are beautiful. It's my first ever attempt at hatching and I've been in lock down about 20 hrs. now. so far~ nothing.

We love to hear new stories and every little thing! Pull up a chair and help yourself to something cold and refreshing. It's a balmy night and I can hear the frogs singing down in the holler.

@lindz8504 They are gorgeous!

X 2, Lindz!! Those are very cute chicks! I love that red one!

It is beautiful here tonight. I just came back from the barn. The sky is clear and full of stars. Peepers are singing at the top of their little tiny lungs. I was taking clothes off the line this afternoon; the turkeys calling on the turkey preserve made me smile. The horses have started shedding and when they roll in the pasture they leave a big white patch of hair behind. Somebody's cat had kittens in my barn. The moma is wild! When I go in the barn she goes out the back lickety split. I have not played with the kitties since I want them to stay wild. AND my hens have finally started laying regularly! My son is coming to visit in two weeks. I haven't seen him in two years..... Life is good :)
