The Front Porch Swing

Quote: From the way my sinuses are acting and my eyes feel. About 15-20 percent. This time of year they will be finding grass pollen out to sea a good 20 miles. BTW it doesn't really bother me I am just aware of it.

If you look at San Diego website it will say 75 degrees and 4 mph winds. They only sample the weather on the coast... LOL. Here twelve miles in land its hotter and windier by a large factor.

Stay safe Rose! Sending (sent) a prayer with your name on it!

Good to see you on The Porch!
So far so good but they're saying more tonight.

Already fed all the chickens and stuck them in their pen so I wouldn't get sopping wet. Even came on the patio and made a ff feeder.

I'll hang it up when I get some chain. I make the bottom board thing to sit the vinyl gutter on and then put 2 hooks on each end to hang it with. As the chicks grow I can move the chain up some. I had this short piece left over from making the others one last year. I just bought some ends for it so I would have them on hand.

Lordy Deb, that is some low low humidity. It normally stays 40-50% here in my house.

Ahhh that kind of Arnold Palmer. I really like that too! I have got hooked on sweet ice tea with about a teaspoon of lemonaid flavored Koolaid mix in it OR a teaspoon of Tang mix. YUM!!! It really makes the flavor so good. I'm sipping on some now. lol

YAY sensible Cowie..... You have a great game plan.... Katee Looks like a quarter horse if shes got her feathers trimmed up.... :gig and before you get to her.... I betcha the cow could go under her.... The top rail of the fence is five feet tall. In order to curry her behind I have to stand on the mounting block steps to see if I get the job done. deb
I like Katee. What a well developed (will I get starred out for this?) derrière!

@Rose... perdy cool! I have got to make some feeders too. I ordered some water nipples today. Be glad when they get here!

I'm also wanting to get me some of those side waterers.

TW this one only took me just about an hour to make and that's gathering up the stuff and everything. I used a jigsaw to cut my boards since I'm not wild about the skil saw. Then I used a drill as well to drill the holes where I needed them. Thank you.

Woot, what a day! I finally put the EE and Wyandotte pullets, ducklings and guineas into the bigger coop. I had to chase some of them down (those guineas sure do hate me) and clip a couple wings, but once that was done, they were pretty happy to explore the new space they had.

It even looks like I have a couple broody hens! I'm trying to find someone in San Antonio or locally who has Muscovy hatching eggs, but I haven't got a response from the man I originally bought my Muscovy from. Anyone have any leads for me?

All the roosters seem huge whenever I come back from a trip. They gain a little confidence when they aren't constantly reminded that I'm the boss. That was squashed out as soon as I came home and grabbed up a couple roos to pet and coddle. They were so embarrassed, hehe!

Hey as an ex real estate broker I can give you a few ways on how you can reduce the amount of interest you pay on any loan.
One ask for an amortization schedule from your bank, it shows you how much of each payment goes to the interest and principle, double if you can the amount of principe by adding the amount to your payment each month and write "for principle". Second, instead of one payment each month, divide your payment and pay every two weeks the same amount, you will pay extra over time but it reduces the loan. 3 at the end of each year pay a single lump sum directly to principle it can literally cut your loan owed in half just in one extra payment. People dont realize that for about 15+ years of a 30 yr loan literally nothing goes to what you actually owe, your paying the bank its interest first! Sadly, I saw many people lose their homes and it made me sick. One reason I moved here. I didnt want to end up like my parents and grandparents with nothing when I was old. Since I worked with many who didnt use interest or had no credit history I learned tricks of the trade and I shared this info with my clients. Every person I helped buy a house still lives in them.
Here im looking for an older style, lets say design can be horrible lets not talk colors of paint or tiles. Im looking at least170 meters or over 1800 sq ft for the house and 500 meters minimum for land. Sadly many feel with the hope of a National Cup in Soccer stadium being built in town that land which was under 100 a hectare is now going for millions. So I have to look farther inland. Right now I can walk to the Mediterranean Sea in about 5 minutes. I want enough land for a few meat animals and hope that my daughters find suitable men with land when they marry. But im not suposed to be online too much to conserve what little we have left. If you need more info leave me a PM.

Good Advice! Hope you find the right home the Lord has for you! You seem to be very smart in that area, so with the Lord and your real estate smarts, you should do fine.

When I got my adjustable rate mortgage back in 1988 for my eensy house here in San Digeo... 3 bed 1 bath no garage... I got the Principal and interest on every bill. Principal was 50 interest was the rest of 600 bucks I doubled the principal each time ..... and it would vary. There was no option to split a payment into two halves.... Unfortunately....

An additional way to slim down the bill paying is to Take your highest interest loan.... Uusally a credit card. Work hard paying it off paying a little extra each time if you can. Once that bill is paid. Say it was 25 dollar per month bill. Take that 25 dollars per month and add it to the next bill payment that needs to be paid off. YOur monthly payment out lay will stay the same Yet you will pay off your bills in a much much abbreviated rate.

Now once the bills are paid.... Take that total monthly amount and add it to your mortgage principal. The beauty of this is its flexible you arent locked into higher payments.

I learned this when i heard some people I was working with had more than 25,000 in credit card debt.... ONe fellow discovered this and applied it

good advise!
