Heel low:

I truly don't mind if someone was big and changed that and I, as a former friend, personally no longer "fit" their criterion in the friendship category...no shortage of NEW friends to make and explore, eh? It is not the end you cry about but be happy about the fun you have to remember it by and then use those fond memories to encourage you to seek out new adventures and put yourself out there and pursue happiness with others.

Theodor Seuss Geisel aka Dr. Suess:
I think for me, lots of lifestyle things happen that can make you get bigger or smaller physically...I got bigger as a new wife when I was going to college/university and waitressed to help pay the bills...YES! Lots of physical activity waiting on tables BUT you got a free meal...so I had a meal and went home and made a "meal" for the family. The dress code never helped either...skirts...with expandable waists... Yeh, what a WASTE. Before I noticed, SURPRISE...I no longer fit into my jeans...

I keep trying to say it's all BABY FAT from having a kid but my kid is...over thirty now. That excuse flies like a lead balloon.

I will never be Twiggy...but I agree that your joints pay a price. I hurt more and I can lay that blame squarely on the extra tire I pack around on me.

My sis is skinny but she is also kinda razor raw...she tolerates things less and I am more the fat and sedate when it comes to satisfaction in life and what goes on as to how I react to it. More chilled in the face of adversity. Is that due in part to "I don't JUMP off the couch when someone screams "FIRE!" because it takes a bit more effort to leap up and it hurts some?" LMBO

Herdy dogs...use to have five Australian Cattle Dogs in total and now there are only two (old age sucks that way!). I can say that when I go out to any of the barns and there is no dog with me...them ruminants KNOW they can act up if they wanna. Have the dog(s) with me and well, them sheeps and goaties snap to attention and practically salute my every whim. Grrrr...forget to take the dog(s) ('cause they are old too and left them napping on the couch) and it's me running around...course there's that weight loss plan I am shirking, eh?

Bee, The tag on the key said ... "ROOT CELLAR".

Exploring the buildings was so cool. The outside door for the root cellar is pretty worn and falling apart. The inside door - at the bottom of the steps - is in really good shape. It has a 8' ceiling and I think it is insulated in the attic. I want to stick a thermometer in there to record the temps long term and see how well it holds temp.

The "Pig Barn" was a pleasant surprise. I'm not sure it was for pigs or not, but that is all I can think of for it, unless they had sheep in there. We were discussing taking the building down to build a two car garage, since DH is turning 2/3 of the 3 car garage into his woodshop. (the building behind in the first picture) 1/3 of this building is already a shop area, 1/3 has an old tri-fold garage door that is too narrow for a standard garage door, and the last third has a standard garage door for actually parking a car in! From the outside, the pig barn looks like it is ready to fall down. But they have fixed it up some inside, they even sistered boards in the rafters, and it has a metal roof. And is actually in pretty good shape.

It is only about 4'6" at the outside walls. But, it is a step down into the barn, and is probably 7-8 foot at the center. Nice concrete floors.

I am trying to talk DH into saving 1/2 of the building. The far end would make a great chicken coop area, and maybe keep a stall or two as a place for sheep to keep the pasture mowed down.
You can see 3 1/2 of the stalls in the second photo, there are 6 total, I think. Maybe you can see in the stall in the next photo.

Yay!!!! We finally caught something in one of the raccoon traps!!!!!!

Unfortunately, it was Violet, our Queen Easter Egger. She made herself at home while she awaited rescue ... ate a little road kill and laid a nice green egg.

The second night we were in the new house, we went to close up the guinea coop and there was a skunk outside it. DH missed, but the skunk hasn't been back.
Good luck with your coon trapping.
