The Front Porch Swing

It was nice knowing you guys.  I may not be around much longer.  My son's girlfriend just left.  She was getting her car inspected when the mechanics popped the hood on the car next to hers.  There was a kitten in the engine.  Guess who she brought it to?  It is maybe 6-7 weeks old.  My husband is due home in an hour.....oh dear.....

Lisa :)

Somebody better be busy cooking a reeeally good supper. LOL

DH hasn't seen any sign of mice around the new place. He thinks the Guinea hens are doing a bang-up job of keeping the place cleaned up of mice and ticks.
He was talking about getting a barn cat to have outside to help with the mice in the outbuildings, but isn't sure there is any need for one anymore.

And now, he is talking about getting a puppy when we finish moving and are both living there. It is his turn to get a puppy.

I didn't have nearly as many snakes when I had cats. The last cat I had would kill the smaller snakes. She killed everything! ...except the dogs. LOL

It's church night, we usually have sandwiches. Hmmmm, it IS church night--he can't do me in. WHEW!!

Here is the little varmint:

She is laying in my small bathroom inside my horse collar. (I am remodeling my bathroom and thinking of going rustic)

It made my hair on my neck stand up when I saw him look under the vehicle to scope out the situation.......he was definitely in hunting mode!

Mike and I wonder if anyone knows what the out come was for the dog? We certainly hope he was destroyed!!!

Quote: I say do the dog in and tie the carcass around the owners neck till it rots off.... The screws turn.

Just bad owners, is all. If I hear that one more time I'll just scream. There are many, many, many, many breeds of dogs with bad owners but you won't see many of them hunt down a toddler and try to kill it.

The coop reno/extension has begun ! I'm adding a 5'x5' section onto my existing coop with mostly leftover lumber from a deck project from last summer. I'm preparing to receive about 20 chicks within the next two weeks so I'm going to be working my butt off to get this finished. Among those 20 chicks will be some Blue Laced Red Wyandotte, Black Australorp, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Buff Orps and Blue/Black Splash Orps - I'll be planning to keep a rooster or two but the rest will either have to be rehomed or go to freezer camp - I'm hoping to come out of this with at least 12-15 hens if possible. We shall see if luck is on my side ! Can't wait to complete this project and get the chicks into their new home later this Summer :D
