No way that was a lab/chow mix...did you see the hips on it? They list these dogs as anything but a pit mix at the shelters because they know they won't get adopted, but that was no lab...I know labs. Those hips were pit bull hips and that tail was a pitty tail. Don't know what the other cross was but that dog is mostly pit.

Around here they have pictures of the dogs available at the shelter and most are obviously a pit or pit mix and they never include that in the description...they call it a shepherd mix or hound mix or anything but pit, but the pictures say it all...broad head, short ears, those unmistakable hips and bowed back legs, thin tail.

@Bee... I see the same thing - a pit mix. Don't see any lab it all. If it is like where I live the owners might have "not mentioned" the pit part. They put some heavy regulations on pits here.

So what breed is Penguin Freedom Mutt? Cause I already named one Penguin who went more black as it got bigger and I have one just like that we named Domino cause we was trying to think of unisex names and something that was black and white. My favorite is Uno but that one has some crimson red in the craw area now. Yesterday I had 6 chicks go over my "fence" on the balcony. So funny watching them. They check out the balcony but soon as they notice me boom they are all in front of me looking for treats. Well its market day so I hope I can snag some greens for my critters.
Got a call last night from a man speaking full arabic, well I could understand part of what he was saying but not enough so I had to call a friend tell him to call this man and explain to me what he wanted. Few calls around and I guess he was trying to get some money to me from my hubby. SO WITH A FEW PRAYERS, I can start looking again for land or house with land. Had to make a call to USA to make sure and I dont know how much im going to have to work with so best find someone who can take payments. No such thing as credit cards or checks here. You can get store lines of credit if they know you but payment is due each payday. Depends on who owns the store. Since everyone around us for a few miles is related in some way I can get anything in a emergency. Just I want to leave that credit world behind. Cash and carry...got to get to the market soon. Hope I can work out getting stuff to fix some coops now with a bit of cash. Take care.

Just calculated if hubby can send the 45,000 from his 401k they gave him it with the exchange rate would give us 65,000. But like chicken math, im not gonna count my chickens yet. Proof here daily one day you got 100 chicks the next some coon kills them all. Life.

The Freedom Mutts are mutts. We have several breeds of hens in our flock, including a couple cross breed mutts we hatched here last year. We have maybe 5 breeds of roosters ... one of which is a mutt who managed to escape the cockerel cull last winter. All hatchery stock, so already mutts when they arrived. All I know about these chicks is I'm pretty sure all the eggs were brown. I found the chicks and their hen in the bushes recently ... surprise!

I'm hoping things go well and you will be able to find a house soon.

100 degrees to day and they are saying hotter tomorrow.

There were areas in San Diego county that got down to 4-5 percent humidity and the winds kicked in.


This crap doesnt happen now.... September October November is our fire season.


Went home today and the wind blew my truck over the line at least four or five times. I finally had to slip down to 55 miles per hour.
Dropped off a couple of bales of Bermuda she was very happy to see me.... Food Ma.... nom nom nom. Because of a miscommunication between me and the fellow that feeds her she went 12 hours without food in her feeder.... never mind the PILE of bermuda all around her feeder.... LOL.

The flies have been messin with her eyes so I wrangled on her fly mask. Going to check it this weekend to see if she needs her eye cream. Clears up with one or two applications.

I had to capture a trash can and fasten it to a post....
