It was a lab-chow mix, will be put down after observed for rabies for 10 days.

No way that was a lab/chow mix...did you see the hips on it? They list these dogs as anything but a pit mix at the shelters because they know they won't get adopted, but that was no lab...I know labs. Those hips were pit bull hips and that tail was a pitty tail. Don't know what the other cross was but that dog is mostly pit.
Around here they have pictures of the dogs available at the shelter and most are obviously a pit or pit mix and they never include that in the description...they call it a shepherd mix or hound mix or anything but pit, but the pictures say it all...broad head, short ears, those unmistakable hips and bowed back legs, thin tail.
