I know lots of people who suffer from dickness.
I could add a couple names to the list. lol
I have to proofread my computer "corrections" all the time. Yah, my spelling is atrocious (got that one on the first try) so I rely on the spell check a lot, but I will not rely on the computer guessing the correct word.
Well DH was here for the weekend. He arrived Wednesday at 11 pm, left this morning at 4:30 am. Been a whirlwind of packing and cleaning all weekend. He decided that we needed flowers in the garden bed by the front door, so we went to town and bought $100 worth of plants. I had to scrape off the cedar mulch from last year and planted flowers on Saturday. I needed 2 more 6 packs of annuals to fill in and 2 more Asian lilies. Have to admit that it looks nice.
Welcome newbies ...
Gooseberries - hubby wants me to grow them. Guess his grandpa had them in his backyard and he remembers eating them straight off the vine. I have never had them. I googled them, says they taste along the line of grapes?
I avoided pies for the longest time - my crust was always tough. Now I just use the recipe from my betty crocker cookbook and use 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening, that makes it flavorful and flaky. Make sure the water you add is COLD, I spoon it out of a measuring cup of icewater, and don't overmix. Stir as little as possible. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill at least an hour before rolling out. I roll between two sheets of wax paper, you have to keep straightening the wax paper out, chill after rolling, then you can just peel off the paper and plop it into the pie plate.
