Like those people who refuse to discuss chickens with you unless you agree to use the terms cockerel and pullet properly?

I promise to not get too precious about the Delawares. I want to help restore the breed, but don't want to be snooty.

You couldn't be snooty if you tried.

So many people are run off by those kind of breeders. Like they say C=Cock, K=cockerals, P=Pullet H=hen Then they can't get bent out of shape It's a win-win accepted name.

OK here is my take on male chickens.

C = cock
K = cockerel ( which makes no sense whatsoever )
R = rooster ( perfectly logical )

I like to think I am not the snooty type either

Ahh nothing wrong at all with working on a heritage breed or whatever anybody chooses to work on. Somebody NEEDS to work on them and I admire you for doing it. If I can ever get my own head pointed in one direction someday I might do that too.

I had a run-in with some snooty people a day or two ago. Lucky I didn't get one of those BYC traffic violation ...citation ...ticket things. LOL ...whatever you call those doodads when you're on the bad list. Some people are so ignorant it just really really amazes me. lol Some of my friends ( ) have to get on to me now and then for leaving The Porch and getting in trouble.

When I called that male chicken a rooster, a bunch of my friends from the porch came over to defend me. And drag me back to the porch. Bee really gave them heck. I was proud of her. But we all realized the best company was on the porch, where snobs just do not fit in........

Those people that want to "SAVE THE ROOSTERS" get my goat. hahahaha You know... "a rooster sanctuary in every village". LOL But the, well one of the worst are those people that make animals equal to people.

I remember one of my first days here I saw a post by a kid all excited cuz their bird won a ribbon at some competition. Out came the show bird people to say the bird should have been disqualified for some reason ... didn't even bother to find out what kind of show.
