The Front Porch Swing

The delivery guy unloaded 10 windows into the barn on Wednesday morning. We got 6 of the old ones replaced so far, but we didn't get the trim boards on yet. Snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow and below freezing temps for the next week or so. Trying to get set for winter and we almost made it! Stay warm folks!

Blooie and TomtomMom- so happy to hear that the kiddos are doing so well!
Use your old ones and build a kick-***** greenhouse. Grow all the year around.

Been awhile since I posted an update on Kendra, and I just put this pic up on another site so thought I'd share it here too. She loves refrigerator magnets and we found this set on sale. She's already learning to sing the alphabet song with it. She doesn't get all the letters, and she doesn't know what it all means yet, but the important thing is that she's making the toy do what she wants it to do and she's responding to it verbally. That's huge!

Oh, and then there's the little detail of her standing to play with it. She stands the whole time! When we first got it we put it low on the fridge and she sat to play with it. But after her physical therapist saw the interaction she told us to put it up high and keep it there.

Today we took her to Walmart with us. She loves Cornflakes - she'll get the box out of the lower cabinet and then sign, "please eat" so she gets some dry Cornflakes in her snack bowl. Before I could stop her today she had one box in her lap and a couple on the floor! Those boxes were just at wheelchair height and she took full advantage! She can also get up and down on the couch - just started doing that this week. While we were at Walmart we bought some child-proof cabinet locks....for a long time I didn't think we'd ever need them for her because she pretty well stayed where we put her down, aside from pulling up on the couch and cruising. Now she's suddenly a toddler!

Blooie, this is amazing what she has accomplished in just a few short months.

And speaking of vision, I have classic migraines. Not a lot of pain but if I've been on the computer a lot I start to see half moons of stars on the outside of my vision. And the print is so blurry I have to stop. AND I don't want to stop. Isn't there something to put on the laptop screen to shield some of the blue light? I've heard something in the past, but I didn't need it then.

Quarantine is over today for the new roosters I got from @preciouskitty . They are doing great in their pen in the pole barn, but they really don't like the auto body work going on in there.

I want to get them together with their hens before the "powdered sugar" hits later this week.

Now I'm nervous about the procedure. There is no room to intro inside coop for a few days cuz of the giant dog crate they are in now. I do have the chicken gazebo next to the run except they will be exposed at night. Should I just put them in coop with girls tonight?

Thoughts?

I know I've seen the shields, but you might do a google search for them because I just don't remember where. Occular migraines aren't horribly painful (if I had my druthers, I'd take one of those a day instead of the few regular ones I get in a month!) but they are so doggone annoying, and add to vertigo if you happen to have that like I do. Sheesh, it's enough to make you swear off computers and books at times, but fortunately my snoopiness wins out and I get back on the 'puter! I use Relpax for my regular Migraines, and I accidentally found that it also does work on occular migraines as well. Kinda spendy for how many more of those I get than pounding-in-my-head migraines. Sometimes the occular ones can be a warning of a migraine headache coming on, and sometimes I get them if I'm going to have a seizure later, like an aura.
If you find those shields and they work, let me know, would you please?
