The Front Porch Swing

Some of our hens were given boy's names. Don't ask why, they just were. It is so confusing to call Tom Coffee and have a Wyandotte hen come running.

I'm right there with you, my 6 year old named an ee pullet Darth Vader last year. She goes by Dar these days lol!!

I figure a four year old gets to control so little, let him get to name the ducks. He wants some choices and control too. Darth Vader! Haha!

My son who was three at the time named HIS doggie Pow Cho... I couldnt get him to change the name for anything... So when I would come home I would call POW Cho.... here would come a beautiful Red Brindle Greyhound loping across the yard...

Big ole doggy Goober he was.... 45MPH Couch potato.... He stood 32 inches tall and weighted in at a light 67 pounds... the rescue said he ran in the light weight classes. My girlfirends Greyhound was the same height but he weighed almos 90 pounds.

Pow Cho's favorite position on the couch was on his back with his front leggs hanging off and his hind leggs sticking straight up.

Hi All. Been a while for me, but I have been watching the thread. Creepy, maybe, but I tend to have more time to read than think and type up anything that actually makes sense. Going to try to jump in here a bit more often.

Have something you all might get a kick out of. I have a pair of LF cochins, one blue and one splash. It was only appropriate to name them Elsa (splash) and Anna (blue) after the sisters in Disney's Frozen. Well, weather has been getting colder here. High of 36* today, and snow flurries the past few days. Guess who has decided to go broody. Yup. The Ice Queen herself, Elsa. Who goes broody when it is snowing out? Crazy girl. I thought about telling her to "Let it go" but I think that would just encourage her.

All I got.

Oh man, get ready for it with Thomas! Kids are just obsessed with that movie! My son will come home all upset because a girl at school didn't sing the song right. It's finally calmed down a bit at are house. When we were in disneyland people were crazy! You had to go get a pass first thing in the morning to see Ana and Elsa and they were out of passes with in an hour. Obviously we didn't see them, except in the parade. I'm not running to get a pass! If my kid does t know it's an option, then it's not a big deal. He was all excited at the parade. Apparently Elsa and Ana looked and waved at him (according to him). I mean, I like the movie, but I don't get why it's such a huge deal. Let us know if Thomas starts singing or dancing to any of the songs!

Thomas has his favorite movies. He loves Toy Story very much, and the spin-off Buzz Lightyear of star command... that one has to be his all time favorite. He actually has said "Buzz Lightyear" before. He likes Monsters inc a lot too. Lilo and Stitch is very high up there.. I've always said Lilo is autistic.

(We call Thomas Stitch, "His destructive programming is taking effect. He will be irresistibly drawn to large cities, where he will back up sewers, reverse street signs, and steal everyone's left shoe.".. he growls too and does this whole flailing snapping bitey thing). And a Bug's life is one frequently in the rotation.

It seems all his favorites feature a kid/bug that doesn't QUITE fit in and gets in trouble.

Lately he's been watching Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Pinocchio and Dumbo. Oh, and he likes oompa loompas in Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. He "sings" the oompa loompa song going 'doompa doompa doompa doompa" haha

I don't think Frozen did much for him, although Olaf made him laugh. He's not really into princess movies much.

There's a Buzz Lightyear spin off movie! What? Thomas and I seem to like the same movies! He has good taste. We're watching Hercules right now. I love Lilo and stitch, but every time we rent it, it's too scratched to watch, so Gabe hasn't seen it. We should just buy it.

I buy VHS tapes at the thrift store.. he wears them out. If I don't pay attention he will watch the same movie twice. He waits for it to rewind and pushes it back in.

We watched Hercules two days ago

It's actually a pretty decent movie. Typical hero vs bad guy flick.
