The Front Porch Swing

Thanks but I'll take the pretty smiling one. Never did have an ear that could stand the "SCREAMING BABY" song, not other peoples' kids and not my own. Screaming babies are decidedly NOT pretty.

+1! Everyone tells me "it is different when it is your own" I guess I'll never know since I have decided not to propagate my gene pool.

You know it, 7. I just spent the better part of an hour trying to wrangle a kitten back in the house. Ugh. It's cold.
She's unde the deck just beyond reach looking at me like...come and get me.

Thomas has hit a new low. He stayed up all night. And I mean ALL night. He fell asleep at 7am. No sir, no no. I have forced him to stay awake all day. No naps. He WILL go to bed tonight.

So today has been tantrum heaven.

I did cancel speech therapy. No way he would have been cooperative in any way.

I remember those days.

I think Nick was 3 when he pulled that one. It lasted for a week. I pulled naps after that so he'd be tired. Turns out it's his natural cycle. He doesn't get going until 3 in the afternoon usually and then it's off to the races. That's why we put him in an online program. Now it works for everyone.

My son use to wake up anywhere from 5 to 20 times a night for the first two and a half years of his life. Sometimes just staying up. It was horrible. I probably avaraged 3 hours of sleep (not all at once) for those years then had to go to work. He wouldn't fall asleep until past ten no matter what method I tried to get him down. Crying it out just made him more awake and hysterical. Finally at two I stopped letting him take naps and slowly he started to sleep better. He still usually wakes up once a night. I've been there. Good luck and hopefully he will sleep better tonight. I know when they get super tired sometimes they crash and sometimes it gives them crazy meltdown energy and they fight sleep more
