The Front Porch Swing

Anyone find a cure for stupidity and insensitivity? 'Cause I'm overrun with it on this trip and I could use some backup!

I'm tired. And frustrated. And full if witticisms that I can't say because my mother would understand them and she'd forbid me from saying them again. Right after she finished giggling with me because she's had a tough day, too. :/

How long are you going to be on this trip?
I realized last night after I got the job offer, that I am probably going to be working with juveniles or at least people who have never grown up. Anticipating a lot of stupidity out of their mouths.
God grant us the strength to endure.

:( I'm sorry, it's frustrating to be in a situation like that and not be able to retreat to your own space for a bit!

Anyone here make their own butter? I scored some raw milk yesterday an was going to try my hand at it!

Bad day alert, everyone! Here's a rant!

Well, I took the finished chair to its new owner...and she returned it. Apparently, it needs "more". I'm not pleased that I'll have to remove the varnish and repaint. But I just want to get it done ASAP.

Did you not show her the design for approval before you started??

That will take some patience on your part WD. If they are "kids" they will figure you are old, stupid and probably can't learn anything unlike their smart young selves. They will learn they are wrong. And you might be their manager not all that far in the future

I'm coming home right now. Should be just a couple more hours. We wanted to enjoy ourselves for at least a few hours but apparently someone has to go to work and wants to get home early so he can get on his bike. I might have given us an hour delay by "accidentally" taking a wrong turn. But you didn't hear it from me!

My brother and I made our own butter in jars some time ago. We got some raw cream and put it in jars and shook until our arms hurt. It was fun!

I imagine you can just put the cream in a cold mixing bowl and use a hand mixer with a whisk attachment to overheat it until it is a thick, creamy consistency.

She said, and I quote, "Surprise me" and all she specified was that she wanted a dragonfly and a nice big flower and her skull. That's it. I added extra designs in the sides and around the seat to add visual interest that called attention to the seat. I guess she just wanted more.

I wish I could just cover my ears and sleep. But I'm the navigator and as long as Mom is awake driving, I'm awake to navigate. We tag team to handle long drives. I also have her snacks in case her sugars go low.

Wish the kids would just shut up and sleep, though. :/

When I was a kid Dad showed me how using a mason jar... its NOTHING like what you buy in the store for sure... I made it again to show my son how when He was a kid... I didnt have the right stuff to get all the liquid out... I have also heard you can make it with a stand mixer deb
Awsome deb that was the video I was looking for! I saw that a while back but didn't have the cream on hand to make it. I think we did the mason jar butter in elementary school too. It's more work than I want to put into it at the moment though ;) maybe when my kids are a little older!

We made butter in our kindergarten class. The teacher passed around the jar and each of us had to shake it a certain amount of times -our arms did get tired. Classes were large in those days, I think we had about 38-40 kids. All I remember is when it was done we got to spread in on crackers and it was the best butter I ever tasted.
