Justin looked at Adira skeptically. "Of course you weren't. Hey look, I think that's Anabelle and Anna over there." He pointed to the two girls walking down the sidewalk.

Jessica glanced at a building and saw a man with dark hair talking to a woman with pink hair. The man looked at her, as if examining her, and she quickened her pace even further.

Justin looked at the girl's retreating form. "I- I know that girl. She looks so familiar."
Anna stopped her eyes on a man and woman. The man pointed to her and Bella, she looked to Bella "Do you know them?" She asked with a tilt of her head.

Adira grinned, "Yeah! Nice to see familiar faces, huh?" She looked confused at his next comment, "She does, doesn't she? I just can't place her."

"I" John stopped and looked around the bus, frowning. He didn't like talking about this out loud. He looked to Jean.

Jean sighed and rolled her eyes "He won't talk out loud, says if there are some, there are most likely others like us, and not every one is good. To answer your question, he 'hears' everyone's top thoughts and has to filter them out to concentrate. Deeper thought are harder, and those like us are somewhat protected." She shrugged and glanced back to John, then back to Beatrix
Beatrix nodded slowly. "Okay." she said, then turned to John, "Stay out, 'kay?" then back to Jean, "I'll take you up on that offer."

John held his hands up and sat back, grinning. "Okay"

Jean nodded and held out a hand for one of hers "I'm still learning this, so it might hurt a little, but it will be healed when I'm done."

"Wait-" Justin said. He had a sudden idea of who it was. "I think I know who it is. I can't place her name, but doesn't she work for the other side?"
Adira stared, mouth slightly open, "Oh. Yes. Oh my gosh. I forgot that they'd be here too." She turned to him, eyes wide, "What are we supposed to do about them?"

Beatrix smiled slightly and gave her her hand, "Don't worry, I'm used to pain."
Jean looked at her a second then clasped Beatrix's hand with both of hers. She bowed her head, closing her eyes and concentrated on that part of her that could heal. In her own mind she saw it as a pure light that first covered her, then moved over Beatrix through the connection of their hands before fading away. When she was done she blinked her eyes and looked up with a smile "See, all done." She said, then released her hands and slumped in the seat, tired.

Beatrix blinked. "This is going to be so hard to explain. But you know what? I don't care." She grinned, "Can I hire you or something?"

Jean grinned then looked out the window, they were at school now "Yeah. I'll be here all week" She said, trying to do a comedians voice, but didn't do very well at it. She sobered and sat up straight again "Seriously, though. I will help when you ask. I hate seeing people in pain and not being able to do anything."

"Thanks." said Beatrix, "Nice to meet someone who thinks like that." She glanced out the window, "C'mon."
