So I have 6 8week old EEs/Ameraucanas. 3 of each I believe. They are black, which makes ID with feather color out. That is except one of my chicks is deffinately an EE roo- he did help us out by showing some red tipping on his chest feathers- plus a red comb.

So give your best guess~

#4 is Definitely a boy, maybe #3 as well but it's still hard to tell. How do the feathers look? My EE boys generally have much bigger legs & look like Roo's in the feathers by 3 months old.

Their feathering looks very similar, although their beards and muffs vary. All have tail feathers equally full. Legs, are all slate and none especially thick. I was thinking 3 boys, but these EEs and Ameraucanas are tough in all black. A breeder friend hatched the eggs for me. The plan was 5 Ameraucanas but one died and then she had 3 EE eggs she said I could have. I took those but forgot which were which. One had to be culled because of a crop defect- but I don't know if that was an EE or an Ameraucana. So technically 3/3 or 2/4 as to breed.
I understand or have come to understand they may all be "EE" because of breed standards, but it would be nice to know...Here's some body shots and legs too.
