The games ducks play.

Add to the ground games:

While digging holes in the lawn, linger over wetter areas and make hideous splattery sounds while getting all the good stuff out of that hole.
Offset the horror film sounds with cute happy-duck sounds!

And my personal favorite:

Alternate the contented wing-pop thing with preening.

They're so transparently happy when they preen.

So when I go to 'lock' my four bachelors in for the night they've beat me to it. All tucked away in their house, in their 'safe' pen, but then before I can close the gate, ... THEY HEAR me coming and they ALL run out. So I attempt to 'herd' them back into the pen - and three run in and one scoots away to the back side. So we start over and three run in and a DIFFERENT one runs behind the pen instead of inside - and the game is on. Every night I get quieter and quieter as I come to 'close them in' and one night it works and the next they are on to me. But I've got a bad feeling that as winter gets meaner, they are going to trickier. Wouldn't you think they'd be happy to be in all safe and cozy - I know I would be.
