OOOH, I just spent a bundle at pinetree seeds.
I am trying peacock broccoli this year. It is purple.
I have to get my seed germinated asap. Where I live, I need my plant-lets in the ground by the 14 of February or it will get too hot and everything will bolt on me.
That is not to say that I won't have freezes and frosts through April... but I can cover and uncover We can have day temps in the 80s and it will fall to the low 30's by morning.
I plan on growing some odd ball things this year: Celeriac, celery, parsnips,Purple carrots,Tyfon Holland greens- it might stay cold enough for them-and leeks.
I grew leeks before-until the burrowing rodents got them. I have given up on potatoes. You think you are digging up a nice large potato, and it is all hollowed out inside with little rodent teeth marks carving out a perfect shell.
