Ooh, I just remember a story on the news. The carbon tax and recent fall in commodity prices and rise in dollar have taken their toll on the steel companies.
Poor old Onesteel has decided to shut down its Whyalla steelworks. Whyalla is a small town of 20,000 north of Adelaide. They're thinking this shut down will more or less wipe out that community

Yeah, and Bluescope's had to axe over 1000 workers from the Port Kembla plant as well. It sucks. I guess the economy is not in a good place right now.

That is awful. It is like companies don't care about anything but profit. Stuff like this happens frequently here in the USA too.​
