Release your chickens in the house and allow them to get it? How about instead of knocking it of the ceiling, next time, you try using a net to get it down?

Could you get a chair to get up there? Maybe you could tie a bag to the end of a duster or broom, and use that as a net. Or use the end of the broom to... Squish it

(Only I would cry at squishing a spider... I always release the spiders outside)
