the girls are bored. Any Ideas?

found out my girls love wheat straw. we had a left over bale from reseeding our yard, so we broke it up and threw it into the run. boy did the girls love this. It's been keeping them happy for several weeks, now its bout time for another. The straw also helps keep down the mud with all the rain we have been having. got a short shepards crook, going to try the cabbage thing. Thanks for all the info. Happy chicky day

I've thought about putting things for them to climb on, I'll try it now. I'll bye some treats as well, it's warmer today....almost 45 degrees and they STILL prefer their coop. I can't eait till spring, eggs, and some happier hens!

Stacks of straw to jump on, elevated outdoor roosts, a pumpkin or head of cabbage... a log or two...

Entertaining chickens is kinda hard.

MAYBE they had a scare? If something startled them...it could be they are afraid to venture out? Just a guess also....

we did have a hawk attack a few weeks ago......it's been around quite a bit latly.​
