The Golden Nesting Box

We have 10 chickens consisting of 3 Layers and 7 pullets (?) All 3 of our layers use the same nesting box. We have 4 nesting boxes total. They will not lay in the other 3 boxes. Actually I've seen them "wait in line" for the golden nesting box. The 7 pullets are very close to laying age (17 weeks) Do you think all 10 hens will lay in the Golden Nesting Box?

You can bet if I were a chicken I would only use the Golden box. I avoided the sleeping in boxes by making them portable, and I didn't put them in the coop till they were ready to lay. I had to put the first hen to lay in the nest when I noticed she was looking for a place to lay,cause I only put the nest boxes in the day before, so she didn't have enough time to investigate. Next time I will put the boxes in when they start to squat, so they have time to check them out. GC

2 stayed on the roost. Some slept on the floor. The rest roosted on top of the board we used to block the boxes. And I just realized our 2 older hens get up wayyyyy before the sun comes up and start scavenging. They were picking the ground before I woke up.

Guess you need a different board/cover.
Gotta more tenacious than they are, definitely trying and tiring.

Put dummy eggs or golf balls or something similar in the nest boxes they aren't using, that may help
