Nice record keeping Oz! Chirp.
its important to know where success occurs and at what stages failures kick in

some breeds did not even make the travel, they may have been cooked in the heatwave in the usps vans,

my last batch ended up with lav orps, bbs orps and bbs jersey giants in the same basket. i wont know for a year what i really have, there will be a lot of checking feet color, earlobes and combs on a slew of birds

this time i have 12 colored zip ties to leg band with as they come out.

RN training with documenting is helpful. Like you though, once they are hatched, I will need to go with leg bands, food dyes etc. I thought I would be able to remember who is who, but they change so fast. (EE's) I only had 30 to hatch, then got hit with coccidiosis, lost 3 before I realized what was going on. 27 survived, alot of work! Like I was back in ICU pulling 12 to 16 hour shifts.

I know you have a big job ahead of you. Are you training the family as you go? Nice set up with pens, location, duh... well, what can I say...your own paradise island.

Way to go and enjoy!
Living vicariously through you and the likes of you...(Sally too). :thumbsup

Now Oz, I don't know if you remember me saying I was going to put Cebu on mt bucket list with DH!
hahaa.....now that you mention it, we both could use some...he needs them in P.T.!!!! We actually looked it up (Cebu and the expat stuff) on our floor globe and internet.

Going to AK on 8-1 for 2 weeks. Sure would have been tempting....just got our new passports....now if we could figure out how to get the Big Uncle to foot the bill, we might just be able to make something like that happen in a couple years! I know you and DH would sure enjoy a cold brew together.....hmmmm. need to do more research and sell a bunch more eggs! :lau Chirp.

my wife as an msn and phd

she can set up as a provider

we can do a mission performing eye exams and physical therapy for deformed limbs for a few days then have an open book lesson on the above.

it can be done.

we could get all the medical professionals on byc on a group rate too

Hey Oz, seriously, I've been trying to figure out a way to take my nursing (or it's applied sciences) and convert some of it in to the poultry side, just can't afford vet school and closest I've seen offered is vet tech...mostly cats/dogs.

I would love to get into the testing, vaccinating, teaching a Chickens Is For Dummies course from my home or backyard even make house calls for minor problems, worming, injury etc. Not many local vets around here will even discuss it....

In Europe, it's a common event, almost like field trips, everything from hatching to freezer.....very young to older folks, there must be a way to create a market for something like this in the states? Your thoughts?

We have started so many people raising chickens, doctor's, lawyer's, young folk, young families...all need the basics. I enjoy following up with them and sending them to BYC.
Chirp.

Oh my goodness, I'm never going to get to sleep. I know his doc's do mission work as a Christian based service several times a year. I will see what I can find out?
