I would stick my light up to the really dark ones knowing good and well that I wouldn't be able to see anything, I'd just HAVE to. You must be steady as a rocK!!

ronett1. I think that's what I'll do. Candled them a bit ago. 9 of 13 showing veins and even movement! Not one has a decent air cell. At least half are saddle cells and all are pretty large and wobbly. I hope at least some survive!

I added UofA blue egg layer hatching eggs to the Brinsea yesterday and of course candled a couple of the Wisher1000 eggs. I swear they were developing!

I will candle again on day 7.

Shipped silkie eggs...day 10. Candled and tossed 4 that were clear. That leaves me with 9. Movement and veining in all. Terrible air cells...none completly detached, just large and quite a few saddle cells. Keeping them upright and only turning side to side. I think my humidity was a little high the first week (didn't have a hydrometer just followed Brinsea's instructions

) Now that I have one I am keeping it around 40. I have been reading a lot about "dry" incubation....basically no water unless humidity drops below 25-30. Mine has been staying at about 40-45 with no water. Of course I will up it to 65-70 at lockdown. Anyone have any experience with this? I have a Brinsea Mini Advance.

What are you using to tell humidity? And where are you located? I find it hard to believe you're at 40-45 without adding water. I add 1/3 of a cup every 1.5 days. I'll add a full cup at lockdown.

I started mine Wednesday night. Not quite 7 days yet. I'll probably not be able to tell what's going on until at least day 10 since most of yours were brown eggs. I'm only good at white eggs this early in the game. I usually do a couple of candling passes and mark the suspicious ones for learning. I'm usually spot on, but have been wrong a few times.
