The great ketchup or catsup debate 🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I honestly don't know what I call soft drinks, soda sounds more familiar, I don't drink it unless it a Squirt or Doc Holliday...
Rolls are for family meals, buns are for burgers and ketchup is only appropriate for meatloaf.
Fries are delicious with country (aka sawmill) gravy, and medium cheddar cheese, what I call the "bullhonk or Minnesota special".

When I was a kid, my grandmother taught me “catsup” is pronounced ketchup. Many brands still spelled it catsup, but that gradually changed. She would say catsup as cat-sup as a cute, joking way of saying it on occasion. In NJ diners, fries with gravy and cheddar or mozzarella are called disco fries at diners. We all say soda. My grandmother on the other side calls all sodas “tonic”, she’s from Virginia I think. I have a friend from Kansas who calls all grocery and shopping bags “sacks”.

There’s an interesting debate in NJ, many deli places sell sandwiches that are basically the same thing, but call it Taylor ham or pork roll, and people can get crazy about you calling it the wrong thing. They also tend to lump Canadian bacon into that, but I believe it’s slightly different.

Something else that’s kind of fun, write down super Mario, and ask someone to say it, then do the same with Mario brothers. See if they pronounce Mario differently in each case, many people do.
