The Great Tolbunt Polish Hatch!! - Babies!!!

Quote:
I candle a lot , I mean close to daily, and still have good hatches, I just keep a bottle of hand sanitizer next to my incubators and always use it before touching the eggs. If I am hand turning, then candle when I turn, that way I am not touching them tooo much

Yeah, you Candling Addictees know what I'm talking about right? You just can't really give it a break for more than 2 days. . . .

I always try and make sure I wash my hands prior to candling though. Who knows. . . Maybe it was my fault, maybe it wasn't. . . For some reason I was always expecting 5 chicks though.

I have a 4 month old tolbunt frizzle male I got from greenacres I would down load the picture but i forget everytime how. I cant wait to see how this goes also. I sure hope you get more Tolbunts for him.

i hope they hatch!!! i looked up pictures on the web just now- i'm starting to fall in love with tolbunts too!!!

also, i've never hatched in a bator before- my cornish hen sugar is always getting broody! is it really not good to candle them too much? my hatches have never missed more than one egg, and i candle every to multiple times a day!

I am, of course, watching this post and wishing you all the best. I would love to see LOTS of these birds hatched until they become common and I can finally afford some, lol.

Two things...

1) can you post pictures of these birds?

2) Wear medical gloves when you handle the eggs. Human oil is THE worst thing for any surface. Even handwashing isn't enough to keep oil off. Think of it this way, you can still leave finger prints after hand washing.
