The Great Wal-Mart Organic Eggs Experiment (Pics)

Could work, as some of the organic eggs are fertile. You can candle them around 7 - 10 days and see if anything is developing.

I've been subscribed, but now I've got my own Walmart eggs! They're sitting out to become room temp now. There were several brands of organic eggs there... most were labeled as "free range", "vegetarian" or "guaranteed to come from vegetarian-fed hens". The ones I got said "cage free" and "all natural". The eggs aren't even all the same size, and a couple are speckled. They definitely look promising. All the "sell by" dates were August 9th, so I don't know how long they've been in the fridge. I'll keep you updated, and am looking forward to updates from the OP!!!

Take a mag lite flashlite or other LED flashlite with a small end. Take the egg into a dark room and hold the flashlight on top. You should see the development.

You can do a google search for egg candling pictures to get an idea of what to look for.

So like.. is this the new way for people to get hatching eggs? If so, quite a few breeders of these breeds could go down the drain.

They need to classify wether or not these are fertile. Eating fertile probably goes against some for of vegan-type code.
