You could look on Craigslist for someone selling 'eating' eggs and ask them if they have a rooster. I gave 8 nice eggs to someone who had a broody hen but didn't have a rooster. They didn't hatch because the broody didn't stick it out but I've hatched the same eggs that I sell for eating, under a broody, and so far I have 3 chicks from the first hatch and another broody is hatching some more eggs that are hatching today.
 
I was very intrigued by this experiment - so I went to the supermarket and brought some organic free range eggs, they even had a pic of a roo on the box - and they are fertile!! I think I'll try the other brands of organic egg on sale here and maybe stick some in the bator, could be a neat surprise to see what they are!!
