The great yolk color debate

All my chickens egg yolk colors vary in shade, from dark yellow, slightly orange, orange, bright yellow, & pale yellow.

Yes it is, a mystery. That happened last year.

How long did the eggs taste like that? Did they all taste like that or just a couple?

Was only two, from two different chickens. Hasn't happened again, thankfully.
I memorized what bird laid what eggs.

Possibly, but when I let them out, I monitor them, & make sure no predators get them, & make sure they don't eat anything weird. Guessing they were sneaky, & I didn't see it.

I went out to feed the biddies after I had just fed all the big birds, and I thought I closed the door good behind me but... when I started back to the house I could see the back door open about a foot. When I walked in there were about a dozen chickens in the kitchen and living room. When they saw me walk in they put it in high gear trying to get back outside. They know they aren't supposed to come in the house but they're sneeky. And like little monkeys, what ever one does they all have to do. Chicken see, chicken do!
