I’ve been so MIA from here, sorry y’all! Things have been crazy!

I had a guinea die in August of a prolapse so that sucked, but the other 9 are doing great. I have 5 females and 4 males, everyone has a mate, the girls have started a community nest in the chicken coop, which is fully predator proof (minus a rat snake who has a taste for guinea eggs) and one of my girls sat on the eggs last night! There’s roughly 30 eggs in the nest and I’m super excited for a chance at keets! Hope everyone is doing well! E514E610-81E7-40F1-84A0-CEB2D8C2B1A6.jpeg E514E610-81E7-40F1-84A0-CEB2D8C2B1A6.jpeg

I had a terrible time with black rat snakes raiding guinea nests and even killing half grown keets last summer. I’ve always like snakes, but I’ve reluctantly concluded that black rat snakes are not conducive to keeping poultry. Best of luck with your nest!
