Just got my suppressor out of jail and I have to say, suppressed 458 socom is remarkably quiet. I went to my parents and shot it off the back porch. My dad was inside watching TV and never heard it, lol.

Took a vid my 76yo mom shooting into the dirt across the dam at ~130yds to hear the noise from inside the house. Me and my dad are standing by the window. Barely hear it at all and only because we were focusing on it.

Here's a 55gr 223 next to a 500gr 458 socom. It is massive, lol...

New to this thread. I became a gun owner shortly after retiring to Idaho (from W WA). I bought a small gun (380) to go for target practice, when I have someone to go with me. I have to be accompanied by someone taller than me because I'm too short to hang the targets.

DW was 4', 11" and she loaded and shot Charlottesville's (60" long, .69 cal, flintlock muskets. She hunted with a .30-06.

Way too much arthritis and shoulder damage to use a rifle. Used rifle to shoot cans in a quarry when I was 22, but now at 66 I'll stick to the 380 in an indoor range. I'll leave the game hunting to the more agile sportsman.
