I do enjoy listening to the boys when they are first learning to crow and how funny they sound. My young boys are quite a ways off from starting to crow. They are just now starting to loose their peeps and get their adult voices. The older adult birds I don't worry about as they go into their coops good at night. The youngsters are starting to, but still need a little coaxing. I don't shut the pop doors on the adults coops at night, and all of the coops and pens are electrified and covered. So far no losses. I do shut the youngsters in at night.
oh yeah it so very funny to here the young roo when they first start to crow mine has been crowing only about 3 weeks and has just got a good decent crow lol he couldnt get it all out for a while there and it was hilarious I laughted at him so hard to much there for a week or two that now when he sees me first thing in the morning he will run around the side of the pen and crow at me no matter what side I go to at the wire I can even move around and he will stil crow at me letting me know he has a FULL bodied DEEP crow now .

Quote: I give the birds treats I put in a small white bucket. If a boy sees the bucket he will start crowing and then there is a crowing contest like each boy is trying to out crow one of the others and as if to say "me first, I want treats" and everyone runs up to the fences. I usually give everyone treats when I go out and collect the eggs in the evenings. The youngsters are curious as to what all the fuss is about. I think they are starting to figure it out too now.

Anybody know why all of a sudden I am not getting post from any of the groups? Been getting them every day since I started and this last week zip have come through.

I logged off and back on in case that was the problem but still nothing.

Suggestions?

I checked to see if my inbox was full and it wasn't I also checked my spam blocker and all is well there too so I still don't know why I'm not receiving any posts lately. I also went to the thread mentioned above but still haven't figured out why no notifications of any new posts. Maybe members are taking a break from posting. ??? With 347,247 BYC members I would think someone is posting to the threads we subscribe to.
