The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

“Oh. Are they okay? They didn’t-“ Kevin paused, not knowing if asking if they died would be too insensitive. “I’m sorry.” He said instead, deciding to play it safe.
“They’re um divorced” Aria said, it didn’t feel real. It felt like she was watching it all unfold like in a movie oh my god. It’s actually happened.

Ciro had no issue reading the clear alarm in her voice, and of course it encouraged the surging panic he'd been fighting. "I have no idea if my family is okay..." He suddenly shot up to his feet and began pacing, the anger of impotence pouring down on him in sheets.
Taquikkar was on her feet in a flash, mirroring his desperate movements with her flowing stride. She didn't make a sound, but no noise was needed to commune how infectious Ciro's uneasiness was.
"Agh, I feel so useless. What was I thinking? What am I doing? I can't just sit here." Oh, but how he needed to stay here too. But family came first...or at least it used to.
But, regardless of where he ended up, could he even do anything anyway? Like Aella had just said, the worst enemy was one he couldn't fight, and, from what little he'd heard, it was oppressive enough to make his other waiting battles unwinnable.
Then something Cam had read surfaced in the front of his mind. Something about closed borders. And it made his legs go weak and sink him back to the ground. "But can we even go back?"
Aella tilted her head back, her gaze following his quick, anxious pacing. Once again, she screwed up. She had learned just how anxious Ciro was over the course of three months, and kept her own paranoia in check, not wanting to stress him out and screw everything over.
But her thoughts had gotten the best of her. She hadn't even thought about his family or any of the others family, or how they would get back to them or if they were even okay.
"It's not your fault." She craned her head back to look at him when he finally gave up his pacing. "You didn't ask to be brought to Russia. And if I'm correct Mexico isn't exactly a joy walk away from here." Aella rolled into a sitting position, giving a slight shrug. "I dunno. You've just gotta...stay calm and wait it out. Even if it's hard." Motivational speaking clearly wasn't her strong suite, but she was trying, since she screwed up the calm in the first place. "It's scary, but there's nothing we can do about it. But you aren't useless, because it's out of your control. And I'm gonna shut up now because I am clearly horrible as reassuring people."

Lilith gave a huffy chuckle, smiling at Nat. "Price? You take gold? You'll have to, I'm not exactly fluid in American dollars at the moment."
At the mention of food, all playful conversation was immediately put to the side by the shear awesomeness that the possibility of pancakes equaled. And the fact that their mutual companions had probably consumed all of said awesomeness. "Curse 'em. I'm stealing their pancakes off their plates if they didn't save some for us."
At that statement, she flung herself out the door and tumbled down the stairs in nearly the same fashion Kylan had.
She then happily grabbed several pancakes and plopped them on a plate, slipping into a seat and digging into them.
Nat followed close behind Lilith and took the stairs with the same wild abandon.
But maybe that hadn't been the best method of post-concussion descent. So she was stuck swaying on her feet as she combated her threateningly turning -albeit empty- stomach. Her eyes watered miserably as she focused on the hazy, tantalizing stacks of pancakes- so close yet so far.

A shy, yet determined smile, crept up the right side of Ciro's face. His breath was still shuddering and his frantic mind was running away with him, but he was genuinely making the effort to appreciate her help. "El, you're friggin' great," he assured her, proud of himself for remembering to slip the iconic adjective in there.
"So..." He trailed off for a considerably long while, watching the little boys meet Kevin's livestock and miraculously managing to keep their exuberance at a nonthreatening level. There was no doubt that both his sisters would be going just as wild with their first farm experience. Hey, maybe they'd get to have it here. After all that had happened, and all that was bound to, who really knew?
"...we will get back when we get back, and there's no changing that, right?"

Hana decided to venture outside sometime after Aria, feeling it would be good to get some fresh air instead of being cooped up. She nearly left the house without putting on her footwear, feeling silly for a moment or two. The air was cool and crisp against her skin, bringing a pleased smile to her lips. Even if it was somewhat cold, it didn’t bother her much. She glanced over at Aella, Ciro, and Taquikkar on the grass then towards the barn where she heard the excited voices of the kids. Instead of engaging with either group, she went off towards the chicken coops, hoping the little feathered birds would keep her entertained and occupied.

“No” Aria smiled weakly
“Even if you could it wouldn’t help me” Aria sighed looking up at Kevin.
Aria smiled at Kevin “I’m okay now though” she said giving a warm grin. She looked around wondering if Kylan has even noticed she’d been crying. Aria knelt down on the grass in front of a calf, “aren’t you beautiful” she smiled stroking its neck

Kevin frowned. Aria’s sudden change in emotions worried him. He didn’t know what it was like to have his parents divorce, but to be crying one minute and then happy and accepting the next seemed... strange. Especially since she found out so suddenly.
“It’s ok to be sad, Ari,” he said softly, crouching down next to her. “Don’t feel like you have to pretend to be fine for someone else’s sake, because I assure you, it’ll only make it worse in the long run.” Kevin said, a distant look in his face. He stood up, brushing his pants off. “If you ever need to talk I’m here, okay?”
