The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

"Oh... That's... That's horrible. I can't imagine never being able to go outside or travel. It's one of the primary sources of entertainment here. If a kid was left when they were only nine, the parents would be arrested and thrown in jail and the kid would go live with someone else. How did you survive on your own?"
“Stayed out of sight most of the time. Always pretended I had just been sent on errands by my parents instead of being the only one in my house. When I got older, the others kind of knew I had been on my own for a while but didn’t really interfere. I spent most of my time reading or teaching myself new hobbies or survival skills. It wasn’t too bad, but you can only be on your own for so long,” she sighed. “Do you think coming from a different planet violates quarantine precautions?” she asked sarcastically.

“Hey we are in Russia. Everything is odd here.” Fred laughing
"I guess." Kipp said shrugging. He didn't expect there to be an attic door in the bathroom, it didn't matter where you were steam from a shower would still get into the attic if there was an opening. But he didn't mind checking either.

He laughed, having forgotten about the pandemic that was happening while they were gone. "I mean, probably." He grinned, "You must've had to be pretty brave to do all that by yourself." He sympathized, imagining how he would've survived if he were in that position and concluded that he probably wouldn't survive.

She shrugged. “I wouldn’t call it brave. Brave is when you choose to do something despite the fact that it scares you. I didn’t choose to be left alone. I just did what I had to do.”

“I’m trying to learn English,” she added, “but I’m not very good at it. The tenses are way too confusing.”

Aella's smile grew noticably at his assurance. No one had ever called her great before, and getting the compliment from him made it ten times better. Others would laugh fo her appreciating such a small remark, she knew they would, but it made her feel the slightly better. She sat with her legs crossed when silence stretched between them, and she allowed it to just remain silent, her gaze drifting across the sky, amazed at how blue it was when clouds abandoned it.
"Right," she affirmed, directing her attention back to him immediately. "No changing how long it will take. It will just...happen when it happens. When the time is right."
And that was good. That meant she didn't have to go home right away. The time she had with them was finite, but indefinite. It could be a long time. Is that selfish? Probably...definitely. Does that make me a bad person? Does it matter? I'm already a bad person...it didn't matter before, but it does now. I don't want to be selfish, but I don't want to be alone, either.
"I say you should be a..." Ciro frowned in intense concentration. His hand went to assail more grass without his conscious consent. The choppy movement caught Taquikkar's attention and she threw a snap at his hand every time it surfaced from the sea of defenseless greenery. "Uh, what are they called? The person who talks to you about your mind and how your thinking works?" He kept his brow scrunched a bit longer, then brightened with seeming victory. "Psychopath?"

Maya appeared conveniently behind her because I suck at roleplaying sometimes. “Hey,” she said, “you okay?” Nat’s drunk-walking was starting to become concerning. “What happened to you? Did you fist fight the cougar?” She asked, grinning a bit at the joke.
"Nah, I just..." Nat gestured toward her head, but her hands ended up hovering at her neck as though they were signaling a desperate state of choking. "Had it out with a wall. Professional concussing's my thing. But it all comes back to communism, you know?"

"Maybe I can help." He offered. "I mean, I can tell you what words mean what in your language. Which tenses are you struggling with?"
