“It wasn’t. Most people tried not to go out too much, like quarantine, but constant. We were all too afraid. I don’t remember too much, though. When I was nine, I was left on my own.”

"Oh... That's... That's horrible. I can't imagine never being able to go outside or travel. It's one of the primary sources of entertainment here. If a kid was left when they were only nine, the parents would be arrested and thrown in jail and the kid would go live with someone else. How did you survive on your own?"

Maya appeared conveniently behind her because I suck at roleplaying sometimes. “Hey,” she said, “you okay?” Nat’s drunk-walking was starting to become concerning. “What happened to you? Did you fist fight the cougar?” She asked, grinning a bit at the joke.

Kipp did his best not to laugh at how little it took to entertain both of them. Searching for chores like it was pirate treasure was something he'd never imagined himself doing. But honestly he just desperately wanted something completely normal, so absolutely mundane, with no possibility of going horribly wrong, that this was actually kind of fun.

He darted around Fred and raced him up the steps bursting in to Kevin's room to check the ceiling there for a missed access hatch.

"Attic access in the bathroom? That's a weird place for it." He said frowning at the door in the corner that lead to the ensuite bathroom. "But I suppose we shouldn't leave any room out you never know where it might be."
