The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

As soon as the Chief dismissed them, Kevin stood, rushing towards his stuff by the door. He dropped to his knees, untangling the chickens from the sack and examining them one by one. He wasn’t sure if they were hurt or not, and sent a wave of magic through them, his hands glowing green. Once he was done, he gently put them back in the bag and grabbed his gun, turning to watch the rest of the group as they slowly made their way towards him.

Hana nearly stumbled out of her seat when she saw the elder lady bring her katana over to the Chief. She felt her heart sink, repeatedly uttering “No, no, no no no no” under her breath as she watched the Chief set down the unicorn horn and put his hands on her katana.

The Chief unveiled the weapon in its entirety and was surprised by how light-weight the sword was, believing it to be versatile with any task with the curved, single-edged blade that shone from the light of the fire. It was a true beauty, it was unlike anything he had ever seen before. “Remarkable, I shall add this to my collection.”

Hana started stepping towards the Chief, but a spearman interfered to prevent her from progressing any further, ushering her to go with her group. She didn’t move an inch as she bit her lip anxiously and balled her hands into fists that slowly hardened from her pent up emotions. “I.. need my katana..” she croaked.
Korim shook his head sympathetically. “It looks like he’s already got his eyes on it,” he muttered. “It is unlikely that you will get it back.”
Blair stood up, about to leave when she saw Hana's distress. She followed the women's gaze, her eyes falling upon a curved blade in the Chief's hands. A katana? She stepped forward, shouldering off two spearmen with ease, without hurting them. The katana must have held value to the woman, judging by how distressed she was without it. "Hey!" She called towards the Chief, her tone not threatening but certainly demanding. A faint whimper sounded behind her, followed by her name, but she ignored it. "That's hers," she pointed at the katana and jerked her head back towards Hana. "Please give it back."

Hana shook her own head, refusing to let this happen. Her katana was everything to her, basically an extension of herself, and it held such immense cultural significance. She couldn’t let this treasure fall into the hands of man that didn’t even come close to being worthy of wielding such a masterpiece. Hana shoved the spearman that stood in her way off to the side and came before the Chief.

Hana glanced at Blair, who seemed to come to her assistance in retrieving back her katana. Blair was much more confrontational and vocalized her opinions freely, which was what Hana lacked greatly because she didn’t care what people said half the time. She was thankful this girl was giving her a voice.

The Chief raised a brow, visibly disrespected by how these women dared to engage him. He sheathed the sword and gripped it firmly. From the body language the glowing eyed woman gave off, she was suggesting that the weapon belonged to the masked girl. He laughed, finding it ridiculous that a female would possess such a stunning sword and knew how to use it. The spearmen were already surrounding Blair and Hana, trapping them where they stood.

Take watched the scene unravel from afar, knowing it would most likely end in the group getting kicked out. He gritted his teeth in frustration when the Chief simply laughed in their faces mockingly. He thinks it’s a damn joke... Take came over, with a serious but angered expression. “Give up the damn sword.” he growled, pulling out a handful of dragon treasure from his pocket and tossing it onto the table. He held out his hand demandingly for the katana.

The Chief watched as Take carelessly tossed riches all over the table like it was nothing but loose change. He grimaced at this ignorant three-eyed boy and flung the sword at him dismissively then shouted at the spearmen to show them out once again

Blair was seconds away from unleashing spent up fury on the Chief as he laughed in her face. How dare he laugh in her face, when even though she was exceptionally shorter she could easily overpower him? "Give me the da-"
Had it not been for Take suddenly barging in, she would have done something she would have regretted. "l' âne." She cursed at the Chief in French when he carelessly tossed the beautiful blade at Take. She gave a glance at Take as they were forced out. "Thanks. That might've turned ugly."

Take shrugged, “Don’t mention it, that old geezer was lucky he didn’t know what he was messing with.” of course he was talking about Blair. “Plus no one laughs at you like that.. well besides me, but” he figured she got what he was trying to convey. He handed the sheathed katana to its rightful owner, which Hana took graciously.

“Thank you both, I owe a great debt of gratitude for getting my katana back” she spoke, filled with delight to feel whole again. She dipped her head at them both, and returned her katana back to its place against her hip. She didn’t know what she would have done if Take didn’t step in, but from what Blair was saying, it would have definitely turned ugly.

Blair lowered her head slightly, hiding a slight smile. She looked up at Hana's words, nodding. "No problem, he had no right to take it from you." She told her, glancing at the katana one more time, huffing when they were pushed along by the spearmen. "Its a beautiful blade. Where'd you get it?"

Take looked at Blair softly before heading over to Korim. “Aye Korim, so how long are we gonna stay here? Just for the night?” he asked, scratching the side of his head curiously.

“My grandfather gifted it to me some years ago. He commissioned it from a sword smith when I became more distinguished in laido.” Hana explained, then continued when she realized she should give a briefing on what laido was. “It’s a really competitive Japanese sport.. with swords.. that my family takes rather seriously.” she finished, trying to put the martial art in the simplest words she could to an outsider.

Blair nodded, listening carefully to her. Anything that involved any sort of blade was impressive to her, and she had seen what Hana had done with her katana, so she had to assume it was a pretty impressive sport. "I think that's amazing. I saw you work that thing with the manticore, and it was pretty damn awesome, I have to say. I don't know anything about it, but I have to guess it's pretty difficult to learn."

“That was foolish,” muttered Korim angrily, shooting a glare at Hana, Take, and Blair. He was glad Hana got her katana back and all, but the more important thing in his opinion was not getting kicked out of the village, and the chief made it pretty clear that any nonsense like this would not be tolerated. “You’re fortunate that you don’t know the worth of those coins.”
