The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

"Don't worry about it," He assured him, "We're all tired, and I can keep it clean for a few days and learn how to cope with only using my left arm for a while. There are probably some others whose injuries are worse than mine anyway. I don't want to take away the care they need." He maneuvered his right arm to where it was resting comfortably on his lap again.

Kevin nodded, leaning against the wall of the barn. Even if they did have worse injuries, Kevin lacked the strength to heal them.
He closed his eyes, blocking out the smell of dragon poop and dragon noises. He was in an uncomfortable position, but was too tired to move.

Kevin gave Aella a small smile as he stood up, walking a little ways away as he scanned the people for someone else to heal.
He looked up at the sound of footsteps, watching the tiny old woman climb up the ladder. He stared blankly at her as she seemingly spoke gibberish. English was hard enough for Kevin to understand, but at least he had a basic understanding of what everything meant. This, on the other hand, was impossible to translate.
He glanced down at Korim, as if asking if he could translate what the old lady was saying.
“Oh,” Korim said. “She’s asking who she should heal first.”
The woman sat beside Ellie, reaching for her hand. “May I?” she asked.

Carson, seeing a strange person approaching Ellie, automatically reached for his dagger that was on his belt. He watched her closely, his body tense and prepared to attack if she showed the slightest hint that she was aggressive.

(Wait, Ellie? I don’t recall her having any injuries. Did you mean Aria?)
(Oh. I’m just going with the fact that she has poor vision, oops)
“Are you hurt?” she asked.
“Are you hurt?” Korim translated.
“Grammar, I think I know which one we should heal first,” he said, leading her to the girl that had been lying on the ground when he had first spotted the group of kids. A barefooted girl with dark skin, long braids, and baggy, dirty pants.
Korim placed Grammar’s hand on the girl’s.
Grammar’s hand glowed green and she felt for the injuries as her power rushed through her.
A dislocated shoulder, a manticore’s poison, blistered feet, and of course, hunger and exhaustion.
The last two could be remedied without her help.

She passed her power through, shoulder popping into place, feet growing a shimmering new layer of pink skin, poison flowing away, hole made by the dart healing itself.
Cam’s lashes fluttered.
“I’m reallly hungry,” she mumbled.
Grammar patted her on the head. “That’s good,” she said, moving onto the prone Aria.
“Do you need anything?” she asked, forcing her power through her body. “Had a run in with a manticore, I see.”

Korim handed Cam the tray and she shoved a flat cakes in her mouth. Then another. “These are reeal good,” she grinned. Once she started eating, her stomach begged for more, like an insatiable pit, but she felt guilty keeping all the food to herself. She took one more cake and handed the tray to Ellie. “They put a really interesting grain in those pancakes,” she told her friend.

“Yeah” Aria nodded “the poison is really painful”. She watched in amazement as the green faded and her arm healed “your incredible!” She grinned feeling like she should hug this lady

Ellie looked at the woman unsure if she should trust her or not, she glanced around at Carson to see what he thought

Lilith grinned. "Wow, you've got a lot. I've got zero. Name's Lilith, by the way." She looked at each brother in turn, committing their names and faces to memory as she gave them a polite nod.
She turned back to the girl, considering her question for a moment. "I'm not sure what they say about it, but Korim seemed shocked that we came out alive." She began slowly. "But I'd say it's dangerous. We got attacked by some wolves and giant boars, and some kind of manticoress lookin' thing. But, there was some weird lake with a giant statue of a woman holding out her hands in the middle. Whoever drank the water had some, odd effects." She finished, watching the tiny girl with cool eyes. Something about her reminded her of May, perhaps it was the adventurous and sarcastic glint in her eyes and words, and she decided she sort of liked this girl-- She seemed harmless and kind enough, besides... Having someone in such a seemingly wealthy family as her ally couldn't hurt. "What about this place? What's it like here? I'm from a place called Nashville, it's, ah, very different."

Pell rolled her eyes when Lilith mentioned her brother, "Of course he was. He believe's everything Mam and Pap say." She muttered. Pells eye latched on to Lilith at the mention of the lake. She hadn't believed it really existed. Pell shrugged, "It's nice enough I guess. Dragon poo stinks. Lots of my friends have been disappearing lately." She said grabbing another piece of bacon to munch on. "At least that's what Mam says is happening. I think they just don't want to hang out anymore. I mean really, We-sa? Like those things could really exist." She shook her head and crunched off the crispy end.

Elim was goggling at her. It would’ve been assumed that that was the strange mask, but he was actually just confused by the very masculine style of clothing.

“Ah, Terci, I see,” Grammar followed Terci quickly. She wasn’t nearly so bent to be slow, she was swift for an elderly lady. Rather, she needed it to prevent her from tripping because of her lack of sight.

Corim climbed up the ladder, tray in hand.
“I managed to sneak some food away from Mam,” he informed them, brandishing the steaming tray. “So that the injured people can eat. I hope Grammar comes soon.” He was thoughtful for a moment. “I suppose that term is confusing for you. In your language, grammar is not the same thing,” He noted that they needed something to drink, and trotted back to the house for a pitcher.

Kyle began to wish he’d stayed in the barn with the dragons. Here he felt like a dog, crawling around so many legs. He wasn’t sure if he should climb a table leg and chance being impolite and on the table or simply beg for food.
Fortunately Juun, the ten-year-old, shoved a piece of pancake under the table.
Kyle noted that it wasn’t very fluffy, not being made with eggs, but it was sweet, made with some unknown grain. And it was flavorful, due to being fried with bacon grease. Kyle was glad that the boy hadn’t given him bacon itself. That stuff was indigestible.

Terci led her back to the barn, taking her around even the smallest tripping hazards on the path.

Blair sat beside Gree, though she didn't spare anyone a glance. She only gave a small murmur of gratitude when Mam placed that bacon on the table, carefully taking one piece and eating it in silence, though her stomach craved more and more. Her foot thumped against the ground softly, shaking her leg beneath the table.
She wasn't nervous because of the people, actually the home gave off quite the opposite feel, and everyone seemed kind enough. She was nervous because Emma was still out there, alone and possibly injured. Or worse.

Gree eyed Blair with a crooked smirk on his face. He wasn't sure why she was so impatient, or maybe anxious.
"Pell what's with this one? She gotta pee or something?" She leaned forward to look all the way down to the other end of the table.
"He wants to know if you're ok." She said loudly to be heard over the noise.

Kevin reached out and lightly touched Aella’s ankle, closing his eyes as his hand turned green. He focused on mending the wound. He could feel a thin layer of skin start to grow, grimacing as he forced it to cover the entire wound. Once it did, his hands flickered out and he leaned back, opening his eyes. “That’s all I can do. Hopefully these people will have more supplies, or a better healer.” Kevin said softly, frustrated by his pathetic healing ability.

“Oh yeah, I bet it tastes like chicken,” Clary joked, entering the house and sitting down at the table with the others. She grabbed a piece of strange looking bacon, eating it as she looked around at all of the people surrounding the table.

Mam barely looked up from the hot frying pan that she was pouring more batter into, at the new comers nodding at them. The group seemed to be quite large, perhaps that's why they were able to survive. Of course that hadn't saved her brother, when a search party had gone out to look for missing kids a few months ago. No one had returned from that rescue attempt. Perhaps these people could have seen the missing men out there, or maybe they could at the very least give some closure, if there really was no hope of them returning.

Growing uncomfortably hot in the bustling kitchen, Hana removed her slightly torn up red floral jacket and placed it on the back of her chair, leaving her in her black tank top. She glanced at the dark skinned boy who was on the other side of the table, noticing his wide eyed stare at her. She was used to weird stares like that, even with or without her mask. Her mouth was straight as a line, unbothered by the eyes on her as she started to serve herself a few pieces of bacon and what appeared like pancakes. Before eating though, she put her hands together in a praying motion then bowed her head a little bit and murmured a polite, “itadakimasu” She always had to do this before eating, it was a significant piece of Japanese etiquette.

"EE-daa-tak-moss?" Juun echoed, staring wide eyed up at the Cat mask and smiling. He didn't know what it meant, but he wanted to be part of the conversation. What ever was going on.

Elim gaped at the very revealing clothing, before looking back at his plate. Elim had yet to find a wife in the village like older brothers. Even at age 22, women were still a mystery to him. Dartuu and Gree already had daughters, which Mam spoiled generously.
Right now Dartuu’s daugter, a little two-year-old with black hair toddled into the room followed by Dartuu’s slender wife, who was wearing a long blue aproned dress.
Gree’s daughter was still an infant, and she was asleep in her room. Mallie, Gree’s wife, was probably preventing her from erupting into a tearful tantrum. Poor girl.

Kyle stood under the table. This family reminded him of a large scale version of his own. Little people multiplied like mice.

Korim snatched a pitcher from the cabinet, and swiftly gathered a bucket from the well, pouring the water in. He spotted his grandmother following his younger sister.
“Grammar!” he called. He hooked an arm around the woman but she patted him away.
“Your Grammar isn’t as helpless as she seems,” she croaked.
“There are these people... from the Laefeslay woods... they’re injured, and they need your help,” Korim said.
“Don’t worry about it.”
~

Grammar climbed the ladder like it was nothing, of course. Grammar was a nimble old woman.
“Who’s first?” she asked, peering through her hood into the darkness.
Terci watched from below as her Grandmother climbed the ladder. Before skipping back to the house to help her aunt Mallie, who still hadn't eaten yet.
(Looks like Aria's not in the house. XD )

Take opened his eyes halfway, spotting the tray of food. He blinked his eyes slowly as he was still half asleep, mumbling inaudible words that were supposed to be “Gimme food now, hungry” if he spoke clearer. He let out a groan as he rolled himself over to Cam and Ellie, reaching for whatever food he could lay his hand on. He fed himself in a messy manner, eating what his hand successfully delivered to his mouth.
