The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

“Oh” Fred stared At Kipp “why are you laughing?”

"I only laugh to keep from crying." He muttered, picking his way down around a difficult corner. "Guys come over here. I think I found the path Chion chook... took. Took took took took." He shook his head stopping the repeating of the messed up word. "It's probably going to get really dark. We should hold on to each other."

“Ok!” said Noah. “Where are we going, though? Are we going to sleep?” He was exhausted. His cheerful voice was slower than usual.

"That's the plan." Kipp said, pausing to eye the chatty kid. "You're heavy. Aren't you." He said flatly, considering carrying him. Ashira still had Emma, and Fred was barely able to walk. Kipp sighed. Walking back the few steps and crouching down indicating he wanted Noah to ride piggy back. He spread his gimpy wings, getting them out of the way, and giving him a place to hold on to.

Aria laughed shaking her head, “alright, back to get the next group”. She quickly teleported back to the group, “hey. I’m back. Who’s groups next?”
Kylan had shuffled forwards, placing a warm hand on Aria's arm, all the while checking to make sure everyone else was there that was supposed to be. When he was satisfied they were, he gave a thin-lipped smile and braced to teleport with them, quickly feeling the disorientation of spinning and moving forward at the same time, his stomach clenching from the unnatural force brutally moving him forwards towards the others.
When the world righted itself and everything ebbed into the new area, now filled with the others; he slouched a little bit, still not entirely used to the sensation of teleporting, and yet he did much better with it than some of the others.
His first instinct was to turn to Aria, worried for her well being from the fact that she was teleporting much more people than he assumed she ever had. "You feeling okay?"
(Torin @RiverStorm , and Alex @RoostersAreAwesome are on Chion's back.)
"Sounds like a great idea." He said sarcastically looking at just how much walking that would entail. It didn't seem like Noah was going to take them to Chion, even though he knew where she went.
Kipp opened his mouth to ask again, but shut it. remembering Fred's solution. Deciding instead that he would just wander in the same general direction as he saw her go.

----
(I'm sticking everyone excluding Kipp, Fred, Ashira, and Noah with Chion. Lets see if we can make it to the river at the bottom of the mountain.)

Chion was impressed that she'd found the easy path down the side of the mountain. All she had to do was follow the crushed dried grass, almost like it was a regularly used path.

The ledge that it had initially been along the side of the cliff, opened out to sloped hills of tall waving grass, the only thing breaking the green being tall red rocky outcroppings. It had taken her and the others with her a while to get down this far, the sky was now nearly black with a few stars peeking through breaks in the clouds.
Torin nestled further into Chion, now not gripping her scruff like a madman. His round eyes flickered from this way to that, making sure not to look up too far in fear of the bright sun scorching his untrained eyes now used to almost complete darkness.
He glanced sideways, trying to see who all was with them. He knew they had picked up some lady along the way, but he had honestly been so terrified he'd zoned out after that.
The new woman walked beside them, wearing overly baggy clothes. She was helping along a thin boy, the same one who'd been stuck in the cell with them and passed out. He gave them a friendly smile for a moment, before glancing away. A dark haired boy was also on Chion, looking just as spacey as he had been before.
"We left Fred, Emma, and Noah. And Take and Kipp." He murmured, mostly to himself. He'd seen Take barricade the door, and a part of him screamed that the man was no longer alive. He was so... Funny.
But he wasn't sure when Fred, Noah, Emma, Kipp, and the other lady had disappeared. They'd been right with them up until Chion got to the first hill, sliding down it with her elephant feet with ease. He had assumed the others would follow... But now it seemed they hadn't.

Chion slowed her large ears picking up the names of the others. Did they not follow us? She wondered, practically turning around to look behind her. The others were missing. Now what? Should they keep going or go back? She didn't think she'd been going that fast. But then maybe Fred was still having a hard time walking.

She huffed a loud sigh though her nose looking at their current surroundings indecisively. She'd been aiming for the river she'd spotted, winding it's way through the valley. But if the others weren't able to make it that far then maybe they should wait. Then again, if they were so far behind that she couldn't spot them in the open field, maybe they'd gone a completely different way. Where is the most likely place they would try to go? She'd been aiming for the river, since they were all going to need water to drink. She could smell the bread that Seina had, so food wasn't a concern to her. At least not yet. She suddenly realized that though her current form didn't feel hungry, it was well past when they would normally get to eat and the kids were probably starving. We can stop and eat. That'll give the others a chance to catch up. She decided, grunting to get Seina's attention and trotting over to a pile of large boulders. She laid herself down in the grass, and nudged Torin's leg with her nose. Having a rest wasn't a bad idea.

---

Seina had been following the creature that somehow seemed to understand their urgent desire to get down the mountain, away from Olim's reach. She didn't know how the kids had trained one of the Tregdar's (there now it has a name) to carry them. But it seemed to be working out well for them. It had taken some effort for her to keep up with it, it moved a lot faster out in the open than she thought it could. She'd only ever seen them in the mines pulling heavy carts, and they seemed like terribly slow creatures.

It stopping to look around was not something she'd expected. Just how smart are these things? She wondered following it curiously. When it flopped to the ground she wondered if maybe it had just finally gotten tired and was done carrying the kids.

Seina set Elon down smiling at the exhausted looking wood nymph. "You're still awake? Are you hungry?" She asked, pulling a flattened piece of bread out of her pocket and offering it to him. She still didn't know if he could understand her.

“No, I’m not,” Noah said clambering onto Kipps back and gripping easily, squeezing with his thighs above Kipp’s hips so he would be supported by them. Cam had taught him how to properly ride piggy-back on a previous baby-sitting adventure. (Far less we-sa were involved in that one, and a whole lot more garden toads.)
He’d always been a scrawny seven-year old, even lighter than he looked and was probably even lighter now after the days with scanty provisions.
“Let’s go!”

“Yes! I’m very hungry! Thank you!” Elon hugged her leg and grabbed the squished bread, stuffing it into his mouth.
He was so hungry that he gobbled it down, but maybe he shouldn’t have swallowed it so quickly. His throat felt quite dry without water, and he nearly choked on it. He coughed, but then chewed his food carefully. “
I’m fine,” he assured her. “Do you have any water?”

Take couldn’t keep fighting on anymore. His body was slowly shutting down on him as he knocked out his last guard, and suddenly he was overwhelmed by two medium built men. They weren’t as strong or hefty as the ones he brought down before, but apparently Take had become weak enough that they could apprehend him easily. They rushed in and slammed Take up against the wall, one kicking him in the stomach and the other slamming a fist into his jaw. Take winced and choked out, feeling the air escape his lungs. They let him collapse to his knees before grabbing both of Takes arms and twisting them behind his back, one forcing his weight on him to prevent him from getting back up.

Take felt numb to it all, his eye sight was blurred and it faded in and out as he laid on the ground, his face pushed up against it and unable to move anymore. He started to hyperventilate, I have to keep.. fighting.. they’re.. going to catch the kids..
The guard that restrained him looked down at Take angrily, and grabbed a handful of his shabbily cut hair, yelling at him in Portsmoth to calm his breathing, but it was no use until he passed out.

Both guards looked at one another, unsure if he was dead until they sat Take up against the wall, seeing the rise and fall of his chest. Still breathing.

More guards joined them, relief washing over them when they saw that the three-eyed man had finally been taken down. They started tending to the wounded and breaching the transformation room at last. A lanky guard came to the masked mans side, who was hidden underneath some junk and urgently cleared it away. “Are you okay? We’ve restrained the subject, but some of the children were able to flee because of his actions.

(Amer?)

Kipp tucked his arms under Noah's legs, to support his weight as he stood. The kids was right he really wasn't that heavy, and it would be a lot easier to carry him on his back than it was to carry Emma in his arms.

"Fred, I want you behind me, and Ashira behind you. Ashira, you should be able to use my thoughts to see, right? Or does it work like that?" He realized that he hadn't figured out, exactly how her powers worked yet. Or maybe he had and just didn't remember.

Seina smiled, glad that at least one of the kids would understand her. "I'm sorry I don't have any water. I think we're headed to a river though." She said her voice kind and gentle. She put a hand on his cheek wiping off a black smudge with her thumb. "I'll carry you when we start going again ok."

She got up and offered food to the other two boys, and gave the Tregdar a pat on it's flat head, eliciting an appreciative snort from the creature.

Chion gave the girl a dirty look for patting her head.
"Did you just PAT me?" It was bad enough being stuck like this. Now she was being treated like an animal too.
