The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

“This... This was my father’s,” she whispered. “Why is it here?”
Chion moved around her to study the long shiny tube. She didn't know how it got here, or where Ashira had lived before coming here. But there were only a few possibilities she could think of. Either it had some how washed up stream, or he had been here with it. "Maybe he was taken too?" She said, saying what she assumed Ashira was thinking. Her ears flicked to rid the rain drops that had gathered on the tips.

“Can’t be... He and my mother left me here so they could to Earth. They left seven years ago. I’ve been on my own since then.” She shook her head and stood up. “They wouldn’t have come here. They couldn’t have.”

Chion tried to come up with an explination, but she had no where to start from. She didn't know anything about her or her family.

"You're parents left for Earth? How?" Chion didnt know much about it, but she was pretty sure the main relocation happened a lot further in the past than just 7 years ago.

Take heard Blair’s calls further ahead of his direction. He sped up, feeling that she had a better idea of where they were than he did. Though as he ran to catch up, he kept his eyes peeled for what might show up unexpectedly.
"Emma!" Blair came to a stop, calling the girls names as loud as she could, but it was swallowed by the sound of the river and the wind, though she heard the lonely cry of a bird respond to her. She spun, the forest around her a whirlwind of greens, browns and red, splashes of strange colored animals scattered across it. But it was all the same. And she couldn't smell Emma anywhere.
When it came to Earth, it was easy. She knew the scents. City scents, country scents, food, animals, people. Here, it was different. Different animals, plants, even the dirt smelled different. And they piled onto each other making it impossible for her to pick apart Emma or Kipp's scent in the mix. And if she was right, she had lost the scent.
Meaning she had been running blindly through the woods for nothing. She turned back, still clutching the strip of bloody fabric in her hand, her heart racing. "I lost it." She called to Take when he came into view, clearly defeated. "There's too many other scents and it's not clear...I just...I couldn't follow it. I lost the trail..."

She shrugged. “No clue,” she said bitterly. “I woke up one morning and they were gone. They left a note saying they went to Earth but didn’t have room for me. Haven’t seen them since I was nine.”

Take walked up to Blair, eyeing the red stained fabric that poked out from her hand. Out of all his abilities, he didn’t have the knack for tracking scents, which he found ridiculous. He sighed deeply, closing his eyes for a moment before glancing in the direction they came. “We should head back then... and keep going down stream.” he spoke, persistent in finding them as he turned to leave the woods. He was tired of the misfortune, Why can’t things go our way this time?

Chion was glad for her non-human features for once, her furry face hiding the surprised grimace she made as she considered that happening to someone. Or her own parents doing that to her. She couldn't imagine her parents doing that to her. It was in her mind an impossibility for parents to leave their child to fend for themselves.

"Maybe, the letter was a lie." she said, turning her eyes to focus on the nearby raging river instead of facing Ashira. Her parents coming here was maybe worse than them going to Earth. Especially if it had been a voluntary kind of thing. But maybe they didn't have any other choice and they left her behind to keep her safe.

A wave of homesickness twisted her belly, she wanted to go home and see her parents again. She didn't like considering the possibility of someone's parents wanting to leave them.

(Question: Ashira is a mind reader, so her parents wouldn’t be able to lie to her, right? Unless they were telepathic as well. But they could have thought some things that she didn’t understand at the time, like maybe about protecting her by saying they were going to earth so she wouldn’t pursue them, and maybe finding her way their herself... if she found a way. )

(They told her through a note, not in person, so she wouldn’t have been able to check if it was the truth or not. They weren’t in the house at the time)

She closed her eyes, not wanting to imagine all this. It was too much to take in at one time. Could it be that she had been angry at them all this time for nothing? That they had sacrificed themselves for her? Now she was angry at herself. “I- I thought they only took children.”
