The Honey Factory

Pics
She is a new queen, I got her in a cute little cage in April.

I will look tomorrow and see what the bottom looks like. I am thinking the back side of that frame had solid brood, but I pulled the other hive and could be confused on that. Old age and all.

I’m in no way saying that your queen was indeed too old etc... just that a spotty brood pattern suggests that...

other times it’s just a young queen that didn’t breed well in her mating flight and runs out of baby making batter too early... or it could be something else...

but I think your instincts are correct in observing that the bees think something in Denmark is amiss...

I’m attaching this pic, I have no idea the source but I have a ‘beek’ folder on my phone and was referencing this last month, so maybe it’s helpful???

again... I’m in no way suggesting one thing or another... but only saying “ does this help”????

I checked my hive.

I found my queen. She looks ok.

But I did not see any eggs or many brood.

The cells I showed yesterday are not capped.

The number of coveted brood cells seems a tad low.

There are less filled Frames in the bottom box than there was when I added the top box.

I be confused.

I think I might have stumbled on my problem.

I read queens will stop laying if it gets too hot. We have had 2 weeks of hot weather.

85-90+ degrees and no clouds. I had not removed the bottom slide part. The screen was covered. I removed it today. I am thinking I should have removed it two weeks ago.

thoughts?
