Well not much of an update on the bees but have a bear trying to get to them.

Right now got a 6v around the bees/garden. Going to upgrade to a 12v once its fully charged (takes about 5 days) and have the 6v just around the bees.

Can you shoot nuisance bears?

Here in Minnesota we are allowed to kill any bear causing trouble or about too.

Every bear I have seen in my entire life is about to cause trouble.

Pretty sure we are allowed to trap them as well besides shoot nuisance bears. I know as a trapper i can also get them during the fur season.

Pretty sure barrels and foot snares.

Check your local fish and game laws first. Many states are set up like mine in that you can shoot nuisance animals after you've made legitimate attempt to keep them away from livestock/agriculture. And the game wardens like to be notified first but in cases of predators in the act of killing livestock you can shoot first then call.

Came home to a occupied swarm trap .

Swarms are amazing at drawing comb. It's not ideal to catch your own swarms but the upside is they'll draw you a box of comb new comb in a week which is handy.

Checked my hives . Looking good . Swarm trap has 4 1/2 frames drawn . Lots of capped brood and honey . Ready to go into 10 frame brood box . None on hand . Buy or make soon . I will probably rob 5 frames from a swarm trap . Getting close to July so. not much use in keeping 3 baited . One is enough . May swarm has 8 frames full so second brood box soon . Nice gentle bees .
